The 'more from the alps' is insanely sexy. That view looks life changing and it's thanks to you that get to see it.

Thanks, nuwomb. It was an exhilarating hike, to say the least. Here's another one from that day:

Very nice. Did you have a filter on for this shot? I feel like in that light my camera would struggle a lot with the sky and the bright light on the mountains.

Thanks, pdxflint. I could definitely do with a creek right now, but I no longer have mountains to trade for it, as I've recently returned to urban California. :( Could I perhaps interest you in a nice utility pole or garbage dumpster instead? Heck, I'll even throw in a manhole cover! :D

Don't be fatuous - there's more to California than just manhole covers. Look - there's the "little house on the prairie" - and it's even for sale!

Was this taken in western California? Specifically somewhere quite close to the coast or San Francisco?

EDIT: nevermind, just saw the file name as Kamnik Alps and googled that it's in Slovenia, not even close to where I thought it was :p

The picture had me fooled too, It could most definitely pass for California.

Yes, I was using a 3-stop ND grad. Very handy for these sorts of situations.

Nice little house. Wish I could buy it. Alas, I'm nowhere near any quaint little prairie (note the word "urban" in my previous post). :(

Ninja Training

One of Jaya's cubs stalking mom. The main tiger exhibit is quite nice, but since tigers aren't social creatures they have to be rotated around. The two males share time in the main enclosure while Jaya and her cubs Bima (brave) and Mali (flower) use this vacant primate enclosure. When the cubs are old enough, they will spend time with mom in the larger space. The cub's names match their personalities, so I'm pretty sure this is Bima.
