I also like your book collection, from which publisher are the Core ones ?

Thanks. The Pragmatic Programmers / Pragmatic Bookshelf. They have a great selection and from their books I have purchased and read so far, I have found them all well written and fairly approachable. For anyone with some C and OOP skills just starting with Mac/iOS development, I'd also recommend Cocoa Programming (Steinberg). Now out of print, but easy to find second hand.

I have a few other PragProg publications on Kindle I'd recommend: Good Math, The Passionate Programmer and The Pragmatic Programmer. Less platform-specific, but good reads if you're into this sort of thing :apple: :apple: :apple:

Awesome! I bought my copy brand new back in 2010 and it sat on my bookshelf (and then in a box in long term storage) for 7 years until I opened it up and got started.

Do make the time and then ship an award winning app (or 5) and while you’re at it, write your apps to support the full gamut of OSX hardware, PowerPC and Intel -this is possible, despite what Apple market and the nay-sayers say o_O

Viva la revolution!

Lucky enough to have seen the Smiths live on the Queen is Dead tour, Fall '86 in Dallas Texas at the Bronco Bowl. Sound was terrible, and Morrissey's pants kept falling off him. Hatful of Hollow was my first Smiths album, gifted to me by a friend who had just moved from London to Dallas Texas. Her boyfriend was a photographer and he went from the Daily Mail to the Dallas Morning News. Barbarism Begins at Home however is my favorite Smiths track, and not just for the bass, Marr's guitar on that track is exceptional. I'd hit click to stop the tape at the end of the song so I didn't have to listen to Meat is Murder and feel guilty about my love of Wendy's Bacon double cheeseburgers. I've been a vegetarian for 28 years now, so I can laugh about it now but at the time it was terrible...

Can someone please explain to me how to use the Harmon Kardon Speakers(small) with my 1GHZ Titanium G4 PB? I checked in the back and i CAN'T seem to find a way to connect them.

If you’re talking abut the HK/Apple Pro Speakers that were compatible with some iMac G4 and PowerMac G4 towers (MDD), then you’ll need to find a product called the Griffin iFire.

Seriously, don't bother with it even if you find one fairly cheap. I have one and it still involves an awkward mess of wires. You would be better off modding a pair of Apple pro speakers, possibly adding a pre-amp if you want a bit more volume as AphoticD suggests.

@AphoticD I followed that guide and stripped one of my Pro Speaker pairs back in late 2019. I bought a Kinter K2020A+ mini amplifier which uses the Tripath DAC chip (the Power Mac G4s also used a Tripath chip for the built-in Pro Speaker amplifier) to drive them, and I've never had one problem.

Later on, I bought another pair to use with my MDD, and aside from minor differences in bass output (due to different subwoofers), the stripped ones produce a result in audio fidelity and bass delivery that is, to my ear, pretty much indistinguishable from the ones I use with the Quicksilver / MDD. The only reason I wouldn't recommend doing the conversion is if you currently have or intend to acquire a G4 that can natively accept the Pro Speakers. Otherwise, I would endorse it.

Just be extra careful when stripping those wires, though. I accidentally took off a couple of strands because the insulation was just so small and delicate to work with...

Would Bluetooth speakers work ? I have a Bluetooth 3.0 USB adapter which the PB G4 titanium can accept. It’s those they sell at 5 and below, abs require batteries.

Not really PowerPC related, but I couldn't find these bumper stickers anywhere so I did them from scratch on my 2017 iPad Pro 12.9 inch, using Vectornator app. I'll look for a way to release the file when I take them out from my iPad and find some free time... work work work work, even doing home office the work doesn't stop. lol.

With the hype for Dark Mode these days, I might have to do a black/white version of this sticker.
