am i the only one NOT seeing a lightning port on the bigger model? on the smaller one is clearly visible.

I'm still betting on (and hoping for) this design with saphire on front and back. These are renders, obviously, but based on leaked schematics. iPhone sales would be totally off the charts.

Goodness I hope that it turns out looking something along these lines. That looks fantastic.

I still haven't decided if I would go 4.7" or 5.5" I always told myself that 5.5 was to big for a phone, but I guess I would have to get my hands on one to see if I could handle carrying something that size regularly.

Now THAT'S nice looking. Very futuristic, which is what we need after 4 years of essentially the same basic design.

Boring

Apple has billions and that's all they came up with? Looks like the 5s, just bigger. They'll still sell tons, but I still think they could've done better.

Ugly mockup is ugly.

Look at the camera area with the white lines...

To everyone complaining about the lines, they're necessary to get a cell signal. And remember what Steve Jobs said:

"We haven't figured out a way around the laws of physics... yet."

i really wouldn't have a choice. i have thousands of dollars invested in apps/music/movies. i have the phone setup in a way that is perfect for my work and personal life.

if it was no longer available i would still get the phone but if i had a choice i would choose the physical button with the touch iD on the front.

Thousands?. Really?.. music has been drm free for years .. so you can transfer that anywhere.. apps is an issue.. army movies .mk4?.. they can be moved.. so it just comes down to apps.. where all major apps are on all platforms... Let me guess.. wen u say thousands.. U mean a couple of hundred bucks... Am I right?..

The LG G3 is an example of why it is so tough for me to get an Android phone. The LG G3 phone has bad battery life, poor performance and bloatware.

The iPhone also has weaknesses but they are well known. With many Android phones it's hard to know what you're getting into.

Ballony... There loads of recent articles where 3000ma battery on the g3 is the best on the market in tests..

I'm really saddened by how ugly this phone is. It's just a total mess aesthetically.
I've tried to like it but you're right.

This is one butt ugly iPhone, worse it looks like J. Ive was on vacation instead of working. What the heck is he getting paid for?

god i wished steve was still alive. he wouldve sent the designers and engineers back to the drawing board on this one. idiot tim cook approved this design?

Fugly as hell. Doesn't matter though, fanboys will buy it anyways. All these "negative comments" will turn in to oohh's and aahh's the second it's released. It will become the best thing since the sliced bread.

And then they'll all post their order confirmation screen, what color they got, and/or how long the estimated shipping time is.

What part of MacRumors do you not understand? They're mock ups that are not necessarily by Apple.

I think that if the 5.5 inch comes out at the same time then I'll opt for that one.

Seen the latest Samsung Note and it's actually a good size and doesn't look oversized like the original one.

I really love how people don't get the concept how rumors/mock ups and be all like:

"I hate you Tim Cook , you're ruining Apple",
"OMG the bezels are so big....not gonna buy" etc.

The behaviour of some people is just pathetic.

Agree, but it seems more bearable on the bigger model. At least the bezels finally look small in comparison to the display.

I want **** done right. I hate it when companies goof around and get silly for the sake of being silly.

So... you don't like the Galaxy phones or you do? I'm confused now....

I'll so be hitting that big, black beauty...

...is what she said, yeah.

EDIT: But please, please, please - oh pretty please - don't go messing this up with some weird 1703,9 x 30pi^3 resolution. 1920x1080 is a perfectly good standard and gives a nice, crisp display at that size. Use it.

A standard by definition limits innovation. The Palm Treo was a standard at one time, and I don't think anyone here or on the other eco systems miss that one.

Innovate... if 1920x1080 worked best, they would use it.

Are you guys kidding me? These are probably mock ups. At worst they are a hint at what the actual devices may resemble. The final product will be beautiful! I'm going 5.5" because I know Apple will pull off a large device better than anyone else can. We all know elegant design is their hallmark, this will be no different. Keep the faith!

Still looks outdated. The front has remained nearly identical to the 4/4s despite longer screens and touch id. IMO the 4s was the best looking iPhone, and the 5s two tone back and now this just look awful.

Those whining about the breaks, what makes you like the glass portions on the 5 and 5s? They're far bigger than the breaks and imo look more out of place than the breaks.

If Apple doesn't pull off a dramatic change in the IPhone 6 it could be another 2 or 4 years before we see a change. These Mockups suck!!

"We haven't figured out a way around the laws of physics... yet."

We know that. There are less ugly ways of implementing them however. Why does the HTC One only have horizontal lines for example? Why does the iPhone 6 have additional ones going around the curved edges at the top and bottom? That's what screws up the look.

Here's the thing about folks saying that these are 'not final products' and that it will all look better when it's out.

The thing is, to me, the way they seem to be doing the antenna stripes on this phone are simply a bad design decision, whether it's on some plastic mockup or on the final phone. One stripe across the device's bottom, and one along the top, like the HTC One M7 would look quite good in my opinion, and even better than the 5s' glass piece back design.

But unfortunately, the way that they've sort of outlined where those glass pieces used to be, we're ending up with a rather ugly, cluttered design.

And after following iPhone rumors since the begin, I'm pretty sure this is how the phone is gonna look. And I'm sure it will look better, of course, but the poor choices with the antenna lines won't go away. That's unfortunate, if these photos even slightly represent how the real phone will look.

FFS, really?! Some people are so precious about this stuff.

Exactly. It could look like a dog turd (it doesn't) and it'll still sell like hotcakes because it's an iPhone with a bigger screen. Exactly what everyone has been begging Apple for for years.
