To everyone complaining about the lines, they're necessary to get a cell signal. And remember what Steve Jobs said:

"We haven't figured out a way around the laws of physics... yet."

They can at least make the lines the same color as the back

I'm still betting on (and hoping for) this design with saphire on front and back. These are renders, obviously, but based on leaked schematics. iPhone sales would be totally off the charts.

These look like a winner

The bezel on the 4.7" looks the same or slightly smaller than that on the 5s. Not sure what you're freaking out about.

You're joking right? ...Or did you forget your contacts? The 4.7" has larger side-bezels than the 2 year old iPhone 5-design. Definitely not smaller. See, I'm sitting here with my gold iPhone 5S in hand, making it easy to compare the two. Even at that, a brand new iPhone in 2014 shouldn't even be compared to the 2012 iPhone, but rather the competing phones released in 2014!

YUCK.

I just hope the first dummy mock-up is far from real. The other photo posted in this thread from Macfixit looked miles better. I'd even stand in line for the Macfixit leaked phone. :)

iPhone 6

It honestly looks like an HTC phone and that phone got a lot of buzz for its looks so I don't think it's that ugly. Y'all just need to shut up and wait for the best iPhone yet to come out. I'd like to see you complaining then.

Don't let it get to you. Looking back at the comments here before various product launches, you will realise that the posters here aren't really any more informed or "enlightened" compared to the rest of the general populace out there.

The posters here have certainly been wrong more often than not. I remember when people here were actually clamouring for the first iPad to run OSX, or how it should run flash, or "insert Apple should do X" comment here, which has proven to be flat out wrong.

So yeah, many will whine, many will complain, many will gripe, but you know what? Whatever Apple releases, they will still shut up in the end and buy it.

As far as it looks, the 5S was the last of Jobs' approved devices. The new iPhone looks rather cheap and unappealing. I hope they will return to the best looking iPhone 7 within a year.

Ballony... There loads of recent articles where 3000ma battery on the g3 is the best on the market in tests..
http://www.androidpit.com/lg-g3-battery-beats-galaxy-s5-battery
The battery test you linked to comes from Phone Arena.

http://www.phonearena.com/news/All-...ttery-life-chart-obliterates-the-rest_id56979

Several websites have used Phone Arena's results.
So, Phone Arena says that the LG G3 has great battery life.

Ars Technica (a well respected tech website) says that the LG G3 has bad battery life.
* It is one website against another.
(Interesting that Ars Technica also claims that the iPhone 5S has relatively better battery life compared with Phone Arena's tests.)

I don't see Apple making this device any larger than it needs to be. 5S was touted as having the ideal size screen for one handed use, so I would be shocked if iPhone 6 was anywhere near the size of a current 5" phone.

I like the overall look of the mock ups in terms of the rounded edges on the back but like most people on here, I would be disappointed to see the antenna breaks the way they are on these photos.

A thin phone with rounded edges and minimal bezel would be absolutely spot on for me.

Yea! like I don't give a **** what the thing will do or look like. I know Apple wouldn't release something that looks stupid or do anything less than the last product. No matter what, I'm buying whatever is unveiled in September.

While 'Air' is the lower end/smaller model in the MacBook range, it's the upper end/bigger model in the iPad range. So I think iPhone Air being the smaller model of the iPhone range could be confusing.

I feel like we may start to see a more consistent naming strategy over this year and next. I think they will drop numbers on iPhones. This is bound to happen eventually, I don't think they can go to double digits and still sound classy.

There are rumours of a large 12" iPad. If this was named iPad Pro, this would match the MacBook Air/Pro naming with regards to size.

Maybe with iPhone there'll be
- iPhone Mini - 4"
- iPhone Air - 4.7"
- iPhone Pro - 5.5"

Possibly all the same A8, or maybe the mini being A7 (i.e. a rebranding or remodel of the 5s)

Then we have a lot of consistency across iPhone, iPad and MacBook. There are other things to consider, like rumours of a new 12" MacBook Air etc. etc.... but whatever they do, I think a consistent Mini/Air/Pro naming thing would be neat.

Just ideas. I don't know why I care about this at all, haha.

Great post you could be bang on the money here. If it isn't Apple's plan, it should be!

Some mediocre android phones have thinner bezels. Oh well, not many rumors are true. I am hoping for HD audio. IP67 would have been nice. Sapphire would be nice. As I've said if the 4.7" model is not impressive I'm sticking with maybe a mini s5 or xperia z2 compact when it comes out

All well and good but then you're using Android and you would have to wear your jeans half way down your ass and walk along with your shoulders slumped looking at your feet as you shuffle lol

The black does look better, but I was hoping for edge to edge displays. Oh well, skipping this generation anyway.

Simple fact, the reason the 4.7 bezels are so large is because the dummy makers haven't taken into account the beveled edges, that's why the glass is weirdly curved

Have faith

Apple and Jony Ive have always come through in the design department.
Have faith. There has always been a lot of criticism surrounding new iphone or ipad designs. We all love the designs now.
If i look at the macfixit pictures, it looks 100% better than the early mockups. If you look at everything apple pro youtube, it already looks 100% better.
The sonny dicksons mockups look silly in comparison.
So have faith, the antenna lines will be more refined, etc.

Ok, but i don' t believe sonny dicksons early mockups.
Perhaps they were mockups based on leaked dimensions, but not based on facts.
Look at this:
Image

Is defintely more refined, smaller bezels and looks like something apple could release.
According to macfixit, this is not a dummy or mockup.
It's weird that all the mock-ups have larger bezels than this leak.

Maybe the screen is slightly bigger than 4.7"?

These are both obvious fakes.

I'm hoping though, these mock-ups going around aren't actually representative of Apple's line-up.

For one thing, if Apple's smallest model ends up being a 4.7", I'm gonna hold onto my 5S for as long as possible and hope Apple comes back to their senses before it's truly obsolete. The 4.7" won't fit in my pants, and I'm not going to start wearing a man purse just to carry my phone around. I also have no desire to use my phone two-handed. I have an iPad. A larger iPhone offers me nothing but inconvenience.

Ironically, if Apple were to switch to 4.7" as the minimum, it's going to force me to start looking for a new phone from a company other than Apple. Sadly it seems Apple was the last real hold-out for flagship phones in a small form factor. Android is probably a hopeless cause, but maybe there's a decent Windows Phone out there that's not massive.

The 4.7 incher has such a crummy camera... Apple is going to make us choose between better camera on 5.5 in or average camera on 4.7....

I know right! How could they go back to a 3MP camera!?! Ridiculous! How could Tim announce that crap with a straight face?!?

...oh wait.... We know absolutely nothing about the cameras yet. Let me get your jump to conclusions mat back out.
