Ugly as ****
Why don't they keep the 4" version? I don't want a bigger phone then my iphone 5.

Tim Cook I hate you, you are making Apple just like every other Android company. Cheap, big and ugly!

Just to say, I admire you for sticking to you guns, and keeping your own opinion on this one.
It is very good to see someone who keeps their opinion and does not just change what they think based upon what's on offer.
Top marks to you.

I can't get over how ugly those breaks are ... like seriously. I've always loved all of the previous iPhone designs and never had a problems with the changes in iOS 7 but this looks so gross. I can't even. Obviously I'm still going to go out and buy it just cause it's an iPhone freakin 6 but still ... why you gotta make it not classy??

Yeah. It's weird - it looks like cheap plastic sandwiched between what would otherwise be a pretty classy aluminium enclosure. I wasn't a huge fan of the two glass panels on the top and bottom of the 5 and 5s, but I think it's a better look than this. That said...I'd just toss the phone in a case anyway. Oh well. They have their reasons and it's certainly not the ugliest phone in existence.

Front AND back :D

So, "iphone 6 Air" (4", A8, slightly thinner/lighter than the 5s) and an "iPhone 6" (4.7-4.9", A8 and larger cam sensor) anyone...??

While 'Air' is the lower end/smaller model in the MacBook range, it's the upper end/bigger model in the iPad range. So I think iPhone Air being the smaller model of the iPhone range could be confusing.

I feel like we may start to see a more consistent naming strategy over this year and next. I think they will drop numbers on iPhones. This is bound to happen eventually, I don't think they can go to double digits and still sound classy.

There are rumours of a large 12" iPad. If this was named iPad Pro, this would match the MacBook Air/Pro naming with regards to size.

Maybe with iPhone there'll be
- iPhone Mini - 4"
- iPhone Air - 4.7"
- iPhone Pro - 5.5"

Possibly all the same A8, or maybe the mini being A7 (i.e. a rebranding or remodel of the 5s)

Then we have a lot of consistency across iPhone, iPad and MacBook. There are other things to consider, like rumours of a new 12" MacBook Air etc. etc.... but whatever they do, I think a consistent Mini/Air/Pro naming thing would be neat.

Just ideas. I don't know why I care about this at all, haha.

I agree that 4.7" is too big. I like the capabilities of iPhones and their clones, but I don't sit around on social media all day and value the ability to use the device with one hand and not be able to feel it in my pocket during normal activities much more than I value having a larger screen.

However, what really disturbs me here is how Apple's secrecy has completely fallen apart so quickly after Jobs died. The iPhone's design, down to every little fraction of mm etc (via technical drawings), will have been publicly available for the larger part of a year before it becomes available. That's a complete disaster for the company both from the technical advantage standpoint and from the marketing standpoint.

I think this company went from being run by the best CEO in the world, to being run by a guy who is apologetic for Apple's success and just wants the world to love him. Forget about improving the world by showing competitors how to make products that make people's lives better. Instead, he thinks he's going to improve the world by inspiring people to be friendlier to everyone, but running a friendly but less successful company that gives people poorer products.

There are android companies? Cool.

You, sir, won the interwebz "stupid post of the month".

Interesting images, the prior mock ups were a little different then these photos. Perhaps the white and shiny back of the phones, but its not really jazzing me up all that much.

I'll have to wait and see what the black ones look like

I completely agree. I just pray that those are fake!!!

it's funny to see peoples keep saying "it's ugly! it's fake!"...of course it's not the real ones and looks unperfect, because it's just a mock-up/model!

What the hell is Jonny Ive thinking. Those breaks make it look so cheap. My mates give me a hard time for being a fanboy, but currently the iPhone is stunning front and back. But now the back is fugly.

I'm praying Apple has pulled a fast one and fool everyone by revealing a completely different phone

The black looks good, but i still prefer the gold one, like my 5S.

Hurry up Apple, and take my money !

These mockups looks so un-Ive. I just hope Apple knows better than to make anything like this.

i love my iPhone but thats the first time i can say those are UGLY

It's not the real thing. Everyone takes these Mockups way to serious. This is not from Apple, its what someone or some people think it will look like.

After Tim Cook saying they were doubling down on security I think there is something fishy about this. I'm surprised Apple don't have their own security in the supply chain factories.

I think these phones are an Apple long con.

Every year we get mockups of the new iPhone & they're almost spot on every year.

The amount of people crying B-B-BUT IT'S A MOCKUP GUISE! in these types of threads is amusing :p

Granted we get some terrible concepts and mockups every year, but these are extremely consistent.

This is what the new iPhone will look like, there or there abouts.

Some dude post photos of an allege iPhone 6 on Twitter and some of you get all hot and bother. Get a life.

I wonder how people always take design mock ups so seriously.

What I wonder is why mockup stories are stories that make it on this site - this has to be the most ridiculous story to post, "this is how someone who isn't Apple thinks it *may* look according to *rumours*." It's speculation based on rumours - does everyone realise how far from reality this is? How very strange.

If this is the iPhone 6: I'm going to guess that the white antenna lines, on the final product, will only be horizontal lines when holding the phone vertically from the rear of the phone.

The antenna lines around the corners, and at the top (above the camera) and bottom, will not be there.

Fingers crossed...
