The first purported component leak for the so called iPhone SE has emerged via Nowhereelse.fr. The images claim to depict a screen assembly of the upcoming 4-inch iPhone.

Part leaks have been notably absent for the iPhone SE, despite rumors that the new device will launch in the middle of March -- only three weeks away.

The new images seems to confirm that 3D Touch components are absent from the 4-inch device. This is consistent with rumors to date that suggest the 4-inch iPhone will incorporate Live Photo support, but not 3D Touch, which is considered a flagship feature for the iPhone 6s line.

The leaked images are said to be captured by a source that on "several occasions in the past proved to be reliable".

The iPhone SE is expected to be announced during a March 15th media event.

Eh, for me at least, 3D touch was a "Oh that was cool for the first week," but now I forgot how much I missed it with my 6 plus. Apple should've put this out of the gate with features on most, of not all, of its default apps. Not doing that was what really killed it for me.

with 3d touch would be too much i think
so the difference must be the 3d touch and 2 gb ram in favour of the high end 6s and 6s plus

I'm calling it now, it'll be named iPhone 6 Mini or something along those lines. They wouldn't revert back to 5 and SE within itself is weird.

iPhone SE is just as weird as jumping from iPad 4 to iPad Air and then continue with iPad Air 2. It would be weirder if the next regular-sized iPad is called iPad Pro too, as recent rumours suggested. It could be so simple... If they rebrand OS X into “macOS”, I will slap somebody.

I've had almost every iphone since the iphone 1 and I don't see myself switching to android anytime soon but I'm slowly becoming less and less of an "apple fanboy".

No 3D touch on a "new" apple device which will probably have a "new apple device" premium price is just ridiculous.

Any sign of a USB 3.0 compatible Lightning port as seen in the 12.9" iPad Pro? Hopefully the iPhone SE and 9.7" iPad Pro quietly include it. I'm guessing the official announcement of USB 3.0-based Lightning ports and release of cables won't come until the iPhone 7 later in the year.

Interesting rumour.

It's good to see Apple learning from its mistakes. They should never have stopped selling a flagship 4" iPhone, but at least they are making amends this year, we hope. And the future of 3D Touch looks uncertain, in view of both the abandonment of it here and also Samsung's unwillingness to use it. 3D Touch goes against Apple's philosophy of an easy to use interface which doesn't need a manual and which is consistent.

Please give this iPhone much better battery life, Apple. Toes crossed.

SE= "Special Edition"?

They should have just stuck to the C labeling. At least everyone knew what it meant

Perhaps "Smaller Edition".

Anyway, I'm fine with no 3d touch. Love the 5s form factor, its just getting a bit slow these days for some of the newer apps. Assuming the price is right, of course.
