How will the compass deal with the upcoming inversion of the magnetic poles?
lol. Don't worry, your aluminum foil hat will compensate for the shift...

I agree and I hate that it's an app by itself, if I wanted a voice recording app I'd download one. I don't want one to be taking up space on my phone otherwise. It would have been better had Apple just stuck it in the notes app.
...including the aforementioned backpacker idiots.
It makes sense, you talk to the virtual mic.
STOP!!!
I can assure you that this is the old (current) 3G iPhone, because the person he writes about is a friend of mine. And no, there is no 4G iPhone in any of those pictures... Sorry people, he was just showing OS 3.0 (one day we got to learn Chinese, or they better learn PROPER English, butsurely nobody should be fired because of this silly mixup!)
To put it in laymans terms it would be as easy as reversing a battery in a cheap model engine where it then runs backwards. Easy programming change. Reagarding the poles, we have until December 21st 2012 and regardless, I will be spending that holiday season in Boston with my wife and family. Not los angeles. No way. LOL. But seriously. How will the compass deal with the upcoming inversion of the magnetic poles?
If the tapping on an object to focus the camera is correct, that will be a cool camera addition.
See the attached photo, does the thing next to the speaker looks like a front camera?
Easy it means the Iphone knows the direction you are facing and walking / driving even at very very low speed where GPS is no good.
Means turn by turn directions as you walk rather than having to try to figure out which way the map should be orientated in references to the real world.

PEOPLE! It's already been established that it's the new iPhone hardware in the 3G casing, so please quit asking about a front-facing camera.

As said a thousand times in this thread, THIS IS AN EARLY PROTOTYPE OF THE NEW IPHONE. Containing the newer camera and compass. Apple could of easily been testing the new HARDWARE features BEFORE they redesign the case. So it's not hard to believe they are going to add even more hardware features (OLED Screen, extra camera for video conferencing) to the new iPhone after its been redesigned.
Well, in order for turn-by-turn navigation to work smoothly the maps need to be *on* the machine. Google maps and satellite images are pulled via 3G/GPRS/WiFi so it's bound to be slow and finicky. Those maps shouldn't eat too much memory; I've got all of Europe on a 2 GB card in my Navigon 8110, complete with POI and topography... I'd happily let an iPhone navigator claim 2 or even 4 GB, especially now that it looks like the next model will be 32 GB...I'm really looking forward to a decent turn by turn app. While the google maps on my iPhone is cool, it's unusable while driving and it still feels like a beta. A very good beta mind you, but it's a little slow and finicky.
