Really.

Hey Apple. Just b/c the phone is cheaper doesn't mean you have to make it look cheap.

Who would pay $450 something that looks like a some plastic junk at the bottom of a toddler's toy bin?

What the hell is going on at Apple? Really. Even the Mac Pro is Plastic Fantastic now.

:apple:

Where did you read about MacPro being plastic?

these colors looks like garbage. keep the white and dump the rest.

apple continues to push these fluorescent colors onto their devices and accessories. i've always wondered ever since the ipod, do people actually buy these things?

Why is everyone judging based on leaked parts and spyshots?

Just wait untill you see the real product. Of course, it's plastic, it's a bit childish and it's plastic, but it still speaks the Apple design language. I have no doubt that these phones will end up lookoking and feeling great. The one-piece back cover looks very good, despite being made from plastic.

So yeah, it's plastic, but:

1. The back cover is one-piece. That's neat.
2. The back is curved. It'll feel very good in the hand.
3. It's plastic, which is not as classy but very durable.
4. It's still an iPhone.

I don't think this looks ugly, and I don't think it will in other colors:

All I can say about the '5C' is that the white on white seems like it would just look bad. I mean, I haven't seen it, but the idea of a solid white phone gives me a headache. The 3G/3GS was broken up by the chrome bezel and buttons. The 4/4S was broken up by the stainless steel antenna band. The 5 and the original model are two-tone. But at least break up the white model with silver buttons or something. Or a darker version of the other colors on their respective models (Like a cobalt blue on the light blue housing one for example).

But, in all honesty, Apple will probably find a way to make it look decent.
I think a white-on-white phone would look absolutely spectacular. It looks pure, clean and it's just very neat.

Nokia showed how to make plastic look sexy on the N9. This is an example of how not to make plastic look sexy.

I really want to like them - I love a bit of colour - but these do look a bit shiny/brittle/scratch prone.

Apple has a worldwide search going for a word that is not "plastic" or "polycarbonate" to describe their new phone.

People need to realise that the biggest potential market for the new iPhone is China where the colours that have been seen so far are popular and the current phones are not selling that well. Also all the talk of these phones being cheap is ridiculous. These are cost reduced versions of the iPhone which will allow carriers to offer the phone for free on contract which is another huge market that Apple is currently missing. If you don't like the look of the iPhone C then that's because it was never designed for you. Western tastes are very different to those of the emerging markets of the east and Apple would be fools to not produce something that caters more for that markets tastes.

Is this a spoof thread? Everybody seems to be in on it if it is. All excited about a "new" phone's plasticky buttons. Ha ha. Good one guys. Now. Seriously now, Lets look forward to some innovation like wot we used to get every year eh?
What's that? It's NOT a spoof?

wow, these colors will fit right in with iOS7 color scheme. good to see the stuffed shirts at apple releasing a 'fun' phone. i'll take an orange one please.

This almost gets funny when there are reports about buttons.

Now if they could just match the back to the front so it does not look ridiculous.

What? Someone who actually THINKS in this Mac Rumors mill? Will wonders ever cease. ;)

Low cost....right

$450+ is not a low cost phone. Nexus 4 is $300 - $350 unlocked. And its full featured, thin, light and encased front and back in Gorilla Glass.

If Apple isn't going to price this iPhone 5c in the $350 range then they will fail to capture the "low end" phone market as there are already very capable Android phones filling that price point. I just don't see the point in Apple developing a "plastic" iPhone if they are not going to price it competitively to try and stave off the onslaught of people switching to Android. Of course the price is only rumors now, but I wouldn't put it past Apple to try and market a "premium" cheap phone.

So basically based on the pics we are seeing the iPhone 5C is gonna look like most other iPhone 5 that have cases on them.

They could have made a budget phone without it looking cheap lol.

If you cant afford and Iphone why not just buy Ipod touch looks great for the money.

Any thought that the 5C might be customizable? Meaning you could take it into the store and swap out the back cover for a another color? Even change button colors around? The look of the 5C plastic case sort of makes me think it might be easy to pop on and off. Case cracks, they just swap it out in store maybe.

I agree. C for CUSTOM or CUSTOMIZABLE

And for those who want something with a more luxury feel, there's always the 5S

Glad someone agrees.

I too think the C is for custom. I think you will be able to interchange cases and volume buttons. One that that intrigued me was/is you don't see the vine buttons with the cases. They are always separate photos. Also, the poly case looks like it attaches easier than the metal on the 5.

Another thing that would be interesting would be for Apple to eliminate the iPhone case after market by incorporating the case into the design. They could have a poly case, a rubber case, etc. no need to buy a bulky case if its built in.

Just some observations based on following apple and seeing the leaked parts. The 5c will be a great product regardless of what it is or does.

Yup, Apple is way too dumb when it comes new products and pricing strategies to figure this out. They should totally listen to you! :p

Check my age. Im 18.

Yes and you have been a member for over a year. So at some point I was talking to an adolescent. Plus, I wasn't talking about you specifically but that there are probably many people on this forum that think 2005 was SOOO long ago. It is less about you and more about me coming to terms about how old I am.
