Sarcasm. It seems like I see so many white Lexus cars with gold trim. They remind me of cheap plastic toys, but I don't know why.

I agree the gold is intended to make it look different, but it just makes it look like plastic because you KNOW its not gold.

what is that smudge

Anyone know what is that mark over the ear piece on the iphone 4 white.

I did not see it on the black iphone 4

Please just skim previous posts, prior to posting yourself....

But, For your lack of skimming its the proximity sensors thats not so visible on the black ip4

So much hate because for why?

Why is there so much hate for the white iPhone 4? Is this whole "cheap and tacky" deal coming from MacBook "Pro" owners? Sorry I think the whole "Pro" moniker is garbage. It doesn't make the owner "Pro". I'm an IT/IS guy with a WHITE 13" MacBook, the same day I got my wife a 13" "Pro" (because she wanted the backlit keyboard). Personally I like the look of the White MacBook, and think the aluminum looks like garbage. I am holding out for the white iPhone 4. Save up your hate, redirect it to your face... That's where I keep all of my hate: All Of My Hate Are Belong To Your Face:D

A few days ago i have seen this post on techcrunch and yottafire. It says that convert your black iPhone 4 to White iPhone 4.

http://yottafire.com/2010/07/04/convert-your-black-iphone-to-a-white-iphone-4/

Anybody has used it.. I dont know whether it will give the same look as the original white iphone or not. If anybody has tried it.. lemme know?

That kit does NOT include the white dock connector or headphone port, so it still isn't technically a white iPhone.

Anyone else think the white surface surrounding the screen is going to detract from the experience?

Like having the lights on when you're watching a film... you'd like the surroundings to just fade to black with just your content shining at you.

It'll be fine. Black is maybe marginally better, but studies regarding perceived contrast have found that border color makes very little difference.

Absolutely agree - This is the first thing I thought - it's great looking but won't be as good for movies etc essp in dark rooms - there is a reason why televisions are black!

It's really weird seeing you yanks fawning over the white ones. Most of the non-carrier stores in the UK only have the white models. Obviously shipped them over here, left all the black ones in the US... Strange...

uh, not true. this may have already been corrected (haven't read the thread yet) but he's spouting bullsh¡t. the white one is just as unavailable here as it is in the US. one techjournalist with a white iphone in a newsvideo does not a release make.

So the original iPod and MacBook make you look like a teenage girl (with shoes) ?

Those devices suffered from a staggering lack of options.

Remember when all PCs were beige?* Good times.

*except the Ti994A and the Unisys ICON, of course.

EDIT: I forgot, the original iMac actually came in a broad range of colours. Neither white, nor black, were options.

I'm not sure if this is a poor attempt at humour, or just a totally false claim.

I travel around the uk with my job, and vie not come across any white iPhones in any stores, neither have I seen one in the wilde. Several people I know from various parts of the Uk have an iPhone 4, and all of the phones are black. I've been told on several occasions that no one knows when the white version will be released.

Sorry, but your statement is false

i think, just maybe, he was joking.

it was a joke. The tone was quite clear i felt

 Oh. My. God.

This was really just posted? In public? Priceless!

No, Wifis were known to cause cancer in laboratory rats. All the Wifis were removed.

The black iPhone has 75% more Wifis than the white iPhone, though.

Oh man, thanks for all that. I needed a laugh today. :D

There was a time when I would have agreed with that.

That time was circa 1992, when white lacquer was all the rage because it went so well with white leather jackets, white patent leather stilettos, and white Mercury Cougars. (Which were, in turn, driven by white cougars.)

Shiny plasticy-looking white gadgets have had their day IMHO.

Course that's just me :)

Mmmm, I like cougars (not the car)... ;) :) :D

Doubt it. The inherent problem with the antenna, which is all of them being on the outside and are thus bridgeable by the human hand, is still there.

I'm still getting one though, and I will be cutting a small piece from invisible shield and putting it on the bottom of the band and covering the black strip.

Why do ppl insist on speculating on technological issues they don't understand? You cannot "bridge" the antenna. You should really study a little electrical engineering and physics before repeating statements you have heard in the news or in forums without understanding what they mean. While the exact issue may not have been fully explained yet, the most likely issue simply involves signal degradation caused by the antenna being physically BLOCKED by the human body. If you wrap your hand around most types of antennas (including other cell phones), you will degrade the signal. This, however, does not constitute "bridging," which involves connecting two parallel electical circuits.

Wrapping an insulator around the antenna will not help.
