I am so incredibly happy I have waited for the white iPhone, especially with all the issues. This will give me a bigger window from the launch date to return the phone if need be. I actually attempted to pre-order black once I saw how crazy things were getting and though I might have to wait an extended time to even get a black if I gave in, but I stopped at the last confirmation page. And now that patients is paying off.

The black is a very very sleek, professional looking phone. My gf got one on the 3rd of June. And I've been envious since, but now it's gonna be her turn to be envious.

The white iPhone 4 just has something about it that is so much more modern, futuristic and *clean* looking about it. It just looks like a much more powerful device in my opinion, and definitely stands out. Also, fingerprints and scuffs don't show up nearly as much on the white. The white actually causes the screen to appear bigger too. White opens up our spacial perception, while blacks causes our perception to close and seem smaller.

Some people have said that the white causes a distracting contrast against the touch screen. I couldn't disagree more, I'm on my white macbook and to me the screen just seems to "Float" more than it would on a black monitor. A black boarder makes the screen "pop" more, but white makes it "float" and seem more seamless. I love the way it looks.

Looking sooo forward to the end of this month. White iPhone = pro.

Give the black to masses, save the white for the pro's.

I did the camp out for the IP4 and am glad I did not get the black one. My business partner did, but me thinking that it might just be a possibility for the white one, I camped out. That being said, im glad I also waited. In a month things will be more settled (Hopefully) and the white one will be out and then I will purchase.
 
Poor white trash...

White back, fine, my 3G is white and looks great. White front? Not only does it begin to look too "Essex" it also makes it harder to view the screen - a black surround increases our eyes' ability to see colours which look richer when surrounded by black than they do by white.

I won't be getting a white one this time - only if they offer one with a black front will I change my mind about this.

That's because its a foreign version. It will have some different logos and info on it in different countries to abide by different laws.

What about the date on the calendar though. How does it say 16? this could be a hint at a date. or just a weird glitch. for the record. the one on the apple page show's the 7th so no it isn't the same.

They will look nice - one of the problem with the white plastic iPhones was scuffs were very visible but with white under glass, that won't be a problem

I do have to say I would be hesitant to get a phone with its screen surrounded by pure white - its hard enough seeing the screen sometimes in the sunlight, I think having the hard to read screen surrounded by blinding white light would make it even more so.

Maybe this can be the preferred phone for vampires? Product placement on all the shows ;)

Oh and Apple can't fix the antenna issue with a coating - doing so would be admitting the release day ones were flawed and just make the lawsuits even more slam dunks than they already are.

I see alot of people with the black ones here in NYC. . . (Clearly) but they seem to always NEED a case to cover the prints.

I like my phones naked. . . or sometimes just in a bra (Bumper) :rolleyes:
 
Come on Pre Orders

My wife and I have been patiently waiting for the white iphones to be available to order online. I check the online Apple store every morning before I go to work at 4:00 am just hoping that I can pre order our iPhones before almost everyone else here can. :)

I highly doubt Apple will let everyone know when they will be available for pre order. A silent launch maybe...

To everyone here that has suggested that Apple will "quietly" "fix" the antenna "issue"...

What exactly do you think will happen when ifixit does the teardown pictorial and tech breakdown and tells the world that aside from the front and back being white, the guts of the phone are different from the black that came out a month before it! No more antenna problems with the white one, hooray!

If that was revealed, the two million+ who bought a black one would show up in Cupertino with torches and pitchforks, that's what would happen.

To change the design at this point would be a tacit admission of guilt, an admission that they sold you a flawed device, and 30 day return policy or not, it would be a bloodbath in the Apple Store.

So, long story short, it ain't gonna happen kiddies, so stop getting your hopes up about it. Besides, there is no antenna issue, my black iP4 works just fine. :)

I'm not sure if this is a poor attempt at humour, or just a totally false claim.

I travel around the uk with my job, and vie not come across any white iPhones in any stores, neither have I seen one in the wilde. Several people I know from various parts of the Uk have an iPhone 4, and all of the phones are black. I've been told on several occasions that no one knows when the white version will be released.

There was a time when I would have agreed with that.

That time was circa 1992, when white lacquer was all the rage because it went so well with white leather jackets, white patent leather stilettos, and white Mercury Cougars. (Which were, in turn, driven by white cougars.)

Shiny plasticy-looking white gadgets have had their day IMHO.

Course that's just me :)

I have both advice AND input regarding this post, but neither are appropriate for an online board.

All I can say is, you're clearly a winner with your priorities in check \m/_
