I agree. For a 1000 dollar device they don't handle with care I like the experience of opening it

True.. but mines got charged this sunday 9/14. but sam just chill. ull find out if u get charged tomorrow or not. if not tomorrow i'll be a lil worried.

Call the store when you receive notice that it is ready to be picked up.

My debit card was charged this morning. I talked to a genius at the local apple store and he said if I have a pickup date of the 19th then I'm good to go. Basically just wait for the email (I imagine it'll be around the time they open) then get in the much smaller pick up line.
I may have dodged a potential bullet.
I was one of the dorks who stayed up til 3 to order mine and in my haste I used a credit card that I have not used since I moved.
Today I realized that my billing address on that card had not been updated and there have been no charges from Apple.
After a 1 hour and 15 minute hold (I was painting my garage while I waited) I had the nice lady change the billing addy for me and although the information has not been reflected on my order conformation, my card now has a temporary authorization.
Another hoop I have to jump through now though is having my father pick up the phone for me on the 19th as I am out of town.
I originally had it shipped to the store thinking I could pick it up the following Monday however I was informed that that is incorrect and that they only hold the phone for 24 hours!
So my poor retired 65 year old dad is going to get to experience launch day first hand haha.
Aaaaaand I just got an email showing that the billing address is now correct....but still processing.
I have not been this worked up about an iPhone since the 4 but my 5 is in dire need of replacement.

I was told by someone at apple that you have 24 hours to pick it up!
HOWEVER,
you can authorize someone to pick it up for you.
Call apple and give them the name of the person that will be picking it up.
Then make sure that person brings their photo ID and conformation of the order.
I am also having the person picking it up for me take the card I used just in case.
Well my Apple leather Case for my 6+ shipped and there is a pending charge on my card for the phone. Pickup at SoHo store on Friday!
People are already in line. Even if I go now I'd never get one. Plus I'd have no one to feed my pups.
I think they let you activate at home. Apple stores are going to be crazy, the faster they can get you out of there the better for everyone.

I spoke to a rep yesterday about me not being charged yet. Not even an authorization charge. His suspicion was that all in store pickup orders would be handled at once.
These posts seem to confirm his hypothesis as I was charged this morning as well.

Yay!! my Bofa card got charged too. I had nervous 30 mins with apple rep on the chat, she was sweet, she dug into my orders and found out everything was right. she was advised not to look into my order on chat, so she directed me to phone support, but my card was charged till then and i was good.
