But, do you have an answer for the second question I asked? Is the charge on my CC a "hold" and I'll have to pay again when picking up or have I been charged for the phone and that's that?

Not sure if this has been asked yet. Tommorow when I pick up my phone am I going to be charged again? I have an authorization that has not dropped off yet on my checking account. I use capital one not chase.

I had to use a debit card because my credit card was stolen :(
 
I'm in the same boat. Account manager, paid for the phone with my credit card, but I'm still on my father's plan for various reasons. Phone's reserved in his name and he is the main account manager with a different billing address than mine. Hoping that since I'm just upgrading an existing line and I'm an account manager who has the credit card used to purchase the phone I won't have too many issues. I haven't had problems for previous iPhones, but I never preordered in the past.

yeah same here. I used my credit card for both phones. I upgraded both lines on the account for the 5 and didnt have any issues, but im worried because i am adding a line.

Yes, I believe they swipe your card when you pick it up? It's just a hold charge either way and will go through once you receive your phone.

got my "order is ready for pickup tomorrow" email. I'm actually surprised that it wasn't delayed, something always goes wrong. Then again, the phone isn't in my hands yet so I shouldn't talk too early.

correct. also if you want to use a different payment method you can. i have done this before with a case for my 5.
 
does anyone know if the phone will show up in the apple support profile now that its ready for pick up? just curious if that means they have an actual phone and serial number associated yet.
 
Just got an E-mail from apple about an hour ago saying that my order is already processed and ready to pick up tomorrow :D So excited!
 
Thanks for clarifying that, I thought that might have been the case but wasn't 100% sure.

It's the first time I'll be collecting from a reservation so I hope it goes smoothly. I've got a 12-13:00 slot in the uk, I do hope its quick as I'll be going on my lunch hour! Is there much queuing doing it this way?

I can't tell you for sure, as reservations are offered the first time in Germany. Apparently there will be two lines, one for walk-in-customers and one vor those that have a reservation. I sure expect it to be a lot faster than having to stand in line without having a reservation. I myself am planning on getting to the store in Hamburg by 7:30 for my 8-9:00 slot and think I should be done by 9:00. I'd say the chances of making it in your lunch hour should be pretty good as Apple always has LOTS of staff for launches.
 
I'm in Atlanta and just got an email saying "We've got some great news for you. Your items will be ready for pickup on Sep 19".

Then it goes through the types of ID you will need to pick it up. I just moved and hadnt updated my drivers license to match my existing address on file with my carrier so I just logged in with ATT and changed my address back to my old address for the day so it will match my drivers license address. Anyone see any problems with this?
 
I ordered a 6+ for pickup in the NY Fifth Ave store and it still says "processing items" and of course no email. Anyone ordering a Plus in NYC get the "ready for pickup" status?
 
Got my e-mail "redy for pick-up" confirmation about an hour ago for Oak Brook, IL. Beyond excited. :D

My status changed (although, I haven't received an e-mail) but at Apple Store W. 14th St. I'm sure they probably have to actually confirm that your exact phone is there. I imagine that's going to take longer at the Fifth Ave. location.

Damn. I knew that too and I still made that mistake!

So last question re: charge I promise. If the charge right now is just a hold, when I pick it up, the charge will go through? I only ask because I put the phone on my CC with a $500 limit I use for these types of purchases. I was charged the $323.00, so tomorrow, will the pending $323 go through, or will I be charged again and need to use another CC since $323x2 is over $600?
