Still on my parent's plan as well (gotta keep dat grandfathered unlimited data) and am an authorized user, so I'm concerned about this as well since I live about 4 hours drive from my parents. Also complicating this is the fact that my shipping/billing address is different from my license as I just moved last month.. but I have a little card that the DMV sent me with my new info on it to keep with my ID. I plan on going in there with: my ID, DMV card with new address on it, dad's social, print-out of my order information, and a print-out of the cell phone bill. They better give me my phone.

Also found it odd that in 2012, I was able to get my iPhone 5 shipped to my address, and when we got my wife a 5S last year, it had to be shipped to my parent's. She was just joining our plan, so I chalked it up to being a new line. When I ordered this morning, the 6 for my upgrade couldn't be shipped to me. Glad I was planning in-store pick-up anyway.

what you can do is make a account password. that way u dont need the social. when you go in u just need the password and ID.

My one email I got last night says the same as everyone else's. I ordered from the Apple Store iPad app.

AT&T iPhone 6+ 128gb Space Gray for in store pickup 9/19.

Going to Arrowhead Mall Apple Store in Peoria, AZ. Since the store opens at 8am, I'll probably plan to get there around 7am with a breakfast sandwich and a venti coffee... while I wait for my venti iPhone. ;)

I only did in-store pickup because ship dates had slipped by 12:40am, but in-store was available for 9/19.

picking mine up at grand central too. will be there early.

Was thinking of getting an earlier train in. But there's really nothing to gain from it for me. The whole point of store pick up was so that I didn't have to get up stupid early hahah. Although the earlier I get in, that means I can leave earlier. Hmmm.

I am picking up in-store in St. Louis, but I have a question. On the Apple website (http://store.apple.com/us/help/iphone#pickup) it states the following:

"Is the iPhone to upgrade or replace a line on an existing wireless account?

An iPhone ordered to upgrade or replace a phone on an existing wireless service contract can be picked up by the primary account holder or by a person authorized by the account holder.

To pick up your iPhone in an Apple Retail Store, the primary account holder or the authorized user will need to bring the following:

Card used for payment OR Order Number
Valid photo ID

If your photo ID does not match the billing address on your wireless account, please bring a second form of ID (for example, a utility bill) with the correct address.

Please contact your carrier to verify authorized users."

I am an authorized user on the account, but my photo ID does not match the billing address on the wireless account (it's under my parents' address). Also, I don't live close to my parents, so obtaining a second form of ID with the correct address isn't really a possibility. Does anyone have experience with this sort of situation in the past?

As a note: I can print off a PDF of our latest AT&T bill to bring to the store. Also, I have the social security number associated with the account as well as the account username/password. Just wondering if I'll run into problems next Friday when I show up at the store.

Ugh this sounds like a process.... great! The billing address and account is through my dad's work... obviously I don't live there so now I need something that proves that address...

I set up the online account so idk if that makes me an authorized user - looks like I have to all AT&T and sort this out.

I'm in the same boat. I asked in person at the Apple store today and the one thing I would add to your collection is a utility bill with you dad's name and address clearly visible.

The associate said they were going to be strict on launch day, but would allow me to use a computer to log into any bill pay sites used by primary account holder to give them adequate proof. Notably, mortgage bills doesn't count as proof for some reason.

Let us know if there is other insight here to make next week as smooth as possible.

Will be at the Boylston Street store in Boston around 730 AM. Hopefully, they have two lines. If the lines aren't separate, I'm going to just come back after lunch.

Don't blame you, you're gunna be there right as it opens, gunna piss off a lot of people who camped out hahaha. I wish I could be there that early to just waltz in and out with my brand new phone lol.

Bringing a copy of your AT&T bill would probably be fine just in case.

never had the option for instore pickup for woodland mall, grand lake, michigan :(
Guess I'm just gonna have to take my chances... have a funny feeling it will be a wasted trip

Apple announced you have a week to get your pre-order straight if there are any hiccups so... I'm set. I've pre-ordered before and I was in and out in a few minutes and even if I'm not I'm still happy as long as I walk out with a new iPhone 6+ I get to develop SWIFT apps for.... *rubs hands together*

Did you wait for them to contact you and give you a pickup time or u just went for store open?

Temecula, California

128gb VZW iPhone 6

My pending email says 9/19 but haven't received a pickup time email yet. Hoping they have a second line for pickup orders so I don't have to wait in the big line.

They did last year for the iPad Air. I was in and out in 10 minutes.

I thought about it. But am working that day so just decided to have it delivered to my house. Someone will be home and I don't have to worry about going to pick it up and something happening

Update on the "not the primary account holder" pickup issues.

Apple store clarified: if this is an upgrade on an existing line - then all you need is to be

  1. An authorized user on your wireless account
  2. Know the last 4 of the social on the account
  3. Know the billing ZIP
  4. Know your account password
  5. Have a state ID (not necessarily with address of account holder)

If this is a new line, then you need to have the more stringent secondary pieces of info like utility bills for the primary account holder, etc.
