Maybe I was too excited to find out the updates etc...Apparently the new iPhone 3.0 won't be released here in Australia till 18th June. :(
Look, everything I posted below is REAL! Don't call me a liar because I did not lie! the liar is Phil, he told the whole world that the iPhone 3.0 will be released on 17th June WORLDWIDE. Now the Australian iphone software update page has changed to 18th June!





Its 0:21am here in Australia (17th Wed)

I just connected my iPhone to iTunes, got the new iPhone 3.0 update and another update is from my carrier :)

I hope this post is for real though - peeps over here in the UK a gonig nuts waiting for this update - only 9 houes to wait now!
 
edit the title of the thread and add in that it is the same as the GM release - people have been wondering if the GM was really final or if a later version would be released..
 
i don't know if i believe this....

apple is a US based company. Why would they release products abroad first? Also, who's to say you just didnt pirate the 3.0 GM. I'm 99% sure that if you were to have the GM on your phone (even before the firmware was officially released), and you clicked "check for updates" it would just tell you that 3.0 is the current version

I don't remember my GM 3.0 giving me the option "download & update" b/c I already had it downloaded via my Apple iPhone Developer account, then I pressed ALT/OPTION while I had the ipsw opened and iTunes had me just click on RESTORE..... FOR REAL!!!

It doesn't give you the download and update option because that it for the carrier file and they haven't released that update to us in the U.S. yet on AT&T.
 
Fake

The Australian Apple site says that iPhone OS 3.0 isn't available till the 18th of June, thats still another 24 hours.
