Fun w/ the 50mm f/1.8. :)

2006-09-03%20112656PM.jpg

50mm @ f/1.8, 1/40th of a second

ISO1600 (should've been on 800, but oh well.)

Geez, I haven't been in this thread in like a week, and things have moved so fast. It's hard to catch up.

Here's a photo of my girlfriend on the beach trying to write my name in katakana. It was taken 3 evenings ago when we went out so that I can take some sunset photos at the beach, and so that she can tease me (and be with me too). ;)

I was planning to take photos of the mountain with the sun behind it while it was setting, where it'd all look miraculously pink, but the cloud photos taken before sundown with my camera pointed 180º away from the mountain look better overall. :)

What an eerie quality to the photo. Feels physically flat to me (not "flat" as in boring), I dunno quite how to describe what I see. Hm. I'll think about it some more. I really like looking at it though. Very odd feeling.

I got the same thing! If what you're saying is that it almost looks as though where the water starts is a backdrop picture. Or something to that effect... I really like the picture as well. Has a very natural feel to it :)

This is my "tip o' the hat" to Spring.

If you care to look, there is always some kind of flower growing in the forest.

Here is another case where a tilt-swivel lcd screen came in very handy. Without one, I'd have had to either estimate the framing or lie flat on my belly on the wet and needle-ly ground. I'm glad Canon is still making such cameras--more manufacturers ought to, as well, I feel. It adds to bulk, slightly, but allows greater creativity and facility.

cam is a a100 , hand held over about 0.6 of a second so its not too sharp.

Thanks. :)

I actually like it because it looks like.......well...... it looks "fake." :p I don't want to describe my work like that, since I wanted to capture what I saw, but the resulting photos have backgrounds that look too soft, more like an oil pastel work using really soft colours. I really don't know either.

Here's another one. Looks fake to me as well, but I like it. Same EXIF data as before.

I wish I could go back and take this picture again.

Why, because it's a bit overexposed, or to get rid of/more of that railing?

And although I'm not iGary........LOCATION and DATE the photo was taken. ;)

I like the extra bit of black at the top. :) It's possibly too much, but I like how it looks like nothingness or something.
