Lazy, Rainy Day Frog

I chased this frog around quite a bit, snapping pictures one rainy spring day. About the size of half a thumb, this little guy had a curiously-coloured, day-glo red belly. I picked this picture today because it's raining, and I'm heading up the mountain shortly for a run and maybe a few foggy, late-summer snaps. Maybe I'll see a frog.

While a college of art and design SHOULD have fancy, stylish buildings, this building just makes it look like the college has too much money for their own good...
They do.

I hate them, they had the nerve to buy my old art school!

freebooter, I think that is a fire-bellied toad. It's poisonous! nice pic, especially considering the risk you took.

been experimenting with low light situations... I'm learning.

This is a praying mantis that was on my screen door. He was 'upside down', but this image has not been rotated, I actually took the picture with the camera upside down.

Oh, that would explain the jack-knifing convusions i had after I popped it in my mouth. Joking. Actually, my rule of thumb is that any insects, lizards, amphibians, etc. that brightly coloured are probably poisonous, so I don't touch 'em.

Keep on experimenting. It's the best way to find out what works.

Nice one. I always like atmospheric effects.

Any info on the place and camera?

Oh yes, I'm sorry I forgot that. I shot this with a Sony DSC-N1 using the program setting. I have used -0.7 EV and that's all there is to it. I didn't record the other settings unfortunately.

I hope I will have a Nikon D80 or D200...

I like this one. Great repeating pattern.
Just a suggestion, but do you need that distant stuff on the right. Maybe a bit of a crop.... ;)

Glad you liked it - I didn't have much time, which was annoying and the subjects weren't that happy with me clicking away at them - especially the one in the foreground.

I'll have to try it again some time.

This is the same shot, just a little different detail. Its closer to what I was going for, but I wanted a little more depth of field. Bleh. I hate being rushed.

In every neighborhood here you'll find street markets, with vendors selling a variety of things, but most especially food, much of it from small, local gardens. This lady was probably up early picking and cleaning her veggies, then she spent all day selling them. Here we see her at 11:00 pm, tuckered out and ready to go home, only one bowl of greens left.

Very nice, Mr. Anderson.

You know, it's really difficult to type that out without hearing Hugo Weaving's voice inside your head. :D

RAD! My heart just skipped a few beats when I realized that this photo was taken yesterday! (I'm assuming it was actually the 17th) I can now go to bed, know that I'll have the most excellent of dreams. Thank you, sincerely!
