I doubt it's real. Apple wouldn't be sloppy enough to send it with nothing but a "Please don't open" label, the silver tint doesn't quite feel right aesthetically, and the camera does look very shoppy.

No, this is definitely a new iPhone. Came in a box with an Apple sticker over the Moto logo and had RAZR crossed out and iPhone written in pen on the side. I don't know what could be more genuine.

the boxes are different! the color of the apple logo on the envelopes are different!
Look at the angle of the letters, the size of them and the size of the Gap where they supposedly rest, they wouldn't fit there. The logo on the Australia (woo-hoo go down under!!!!!
) was black not blue. And as for the supposed iPhone 3G in the box, it looks like a colorware device with a white front, white home button, black rim and some cd holders with blank cd's with the Apple Logo printed on the sleeve to make it look official.Overall. It is fake. I really hate it when people claim they have seen or own an unreleased product in order to receive attention. Just wait until Apple unveil it for heavens sake!

In order of likelihood I think:
1. It's a fake and someone is having fun
2. It's a model for training purposes (is there such a thing?) and these wouldn't be like the final one
3. It's real.
And, as Eric Lewis pointed out, if it was real, wouldn't the picture have been taken down by now?
