I see it has good reviews but 1 thing that’s concerning is that in some reviews people say you can’t plug in Apples charger into the lightning port because the cut out of the case is too small? Any truth to this? Seems hard to believe they would design it like that. One person even said they had to file down the cutout on the case to make it work. Anyone who has this case..is this true? Thx

Not sure what’s the problem? Just took it for you. 12 pro max with pitaka air

Thanks for the response but that’s the air. I’m referring to the MagEz case from Pitaka for the pro max 6.7”. They don’t currently have the Air available for the Pro Max’s.

I have both the MagEZ and Air and both have no issue with the cord plugged in.

I did read reports of some early buyers having issues but Pitaka replaced the cases and the newer run does not appear to have the issue.

Using the Air now as it is appreciably thinner and lighter than the EZ.

Is the Air available for the pro max 6.7” now or do you have it for the pro? Thank you.

Thanks for the pic comparisons. Which one do you prefer in hand?

The weight and thickness is noticeable both just holding the case as well as on the PM.

Air is spec'd as 0.65mm and EZ as 0.85mm. For reference, 10 sheets of paper is about 1 mm or a credit card is about 0.76mm.

Air weighs 9g and EZ weighs 17g. Totallee clear, soft TPU case weighs 24g.

I use a tempered glass screen protector on my PM so there is really no "lip" which I prefer for gestures. If you had no screen protector there would be a minimal lip above the screen.

If I never tried the Air, I would be very happy with the EZ. I have used the EZ on past phones (and on my PM while waiting on the Air) and enjoyed it as it is very light and thin but still provides some bump protection and definitely more grip than a naked phone.

The Air just takes it up a notch for a big phone like the PM. If you use the other Pitaka accessories that utilize the magnetic attachments, then EZ is the way to go rather than trying to rig up something in the Air. If you don't then Air is a great option.

The other thing, over a naked phone, is the Pitaka Air or EZ "softens" up the edges of the phone by the case. Hard plastic cases or the naked phone had a tendency to dig into my pinky when holding the phone with one hand for extended periods of time due to the size and weight of the PM. The Air and EZ both provide a softer feel, IMO, when holding the phone with one hand resting on your pinky.

Air is not quite as "rubbery" feeling as the EZ and likely due to the tighter weave and thinner case which makes it a bit smoother if that makes a difference to you.

EZ seems to have a bit better grip for this reason, but Air is still very good and better than something like the Totallee clear, soft TPU case which is generally recognized as the thinnest clear case and one I have used on many phones in the past.

Both show fingerprints but they can be wiped off if that is an issue for you.

Thank you for that lengthy and informative response. Much appreciated. 👍

I ordered both, too, and ended up keeping the Air case for my Gold 12 PM and returned the MagEZ case.

The reason why I preferred the Air case is because of its feel in the hand, weight, and ultra-thin profile. I don’t use any other Pitaka accessories, so the MagEZ case was never a preference.

In my option, the Air case is worth the extra money.

The Air was back in stock today. I ordered it over the MagEZ. I prefer the thinner profile especially given how large the pro max is.

I had order3d both and have to agree with every single sentence of this post. I had The same exact experience with my cases and ended up keeping the air. I also did have a slight issue with the charging port. The case kept the cable from seating fully against the phone. The gap was very minimal and it still charged. I contacted their customer service and they promptly sent me a new one that is 100% perfect. I didn’t even have to send the old one back or anything. Like I said, it was just a small gap but the airs are pricey so I expect a perfect case for the price.

Pitaka Air on my 12 PM. Actually crazy how thin and light it is. Somewhat rubbery feel after you have had it on for awhile in a good way. Softens up the edges as well so it does not dig into your pinky if you are the type, like me, that rests the phone on your pinky.

I got one too but I don't like the uncovered parts... I can only imagine all the scratches on that stainless steal after prolonged time of carrying the phone in pocket with some other items.
Nice case, just not enough protection

I have the Mag case and it has a slight lip at the screen so you can set the phone face down on a table and the screen won’t touch. It looks like you have a screen protector on your phone, if I am correct. Without the screen protector, is there still that lip like the Mag case has?

yes, tempered glass screen protector on mine. Just the most minimal of lip above the SP so there would be a bit more without the SP but not much. I don’t set my phone face down so my preference is to not have any lip above

Thank you. That’s good to know. The way I keep it when not using it at work is why I like that lip over the screen.

The Air is very minimal including the lip. If you want screen protection it may not be right for your use.

I was wondering about that. I may just stick with their MagEZ case for now. I’ve been switching between that and a Burkley leather case at the moment. They are both really nice.

I’ve been toying with a leather case and I have used Burkley in the past but the additional thickness and weight on the ProMax may be a bit much.
