What's so good about finding nemo? I fell asleep watching it.

Finding Nemo was the first Pixar film to actually have an adult storyline - with minor modifications, the script would have worked just as well with real live people.

It was a sweet story, well written, well scored, well acted (audially) and the characters were likable.

But they would have drowned. :(

Personally, I never really got the hubbub about Finding Nemo. It went something like this:

Dad: "My son is missing."
Random ocean-life: "Oh, let me help you find him."
(sub-plot adventure)

Dad: "You're useless, but at least I wasn't eaten."

My favourites were Wall-E and Ratatouille, but for different reasons. Wall-E was touching and funny, and I loved how the characters could project their feelings so well with only gestures, and no coherent sentences. It's VERY clever.

I was pleasantly surprised that Ratatouille wasn't a total bust. I thought nobody would bother seeing a movie about a mouse who cooks, but even I was taken aback by some of the plot. It's funny as well.

Didn't like Cars or A Bug's Life. Didn't really think Toy Story 2 or Finding Nemo was anything amazing. I only saw The Incredibles recently, and again I was a bit surprised that it wasn't a bust.

And for all those Cars fans, they're actually making a sequel to that one :)o), but after the next sequel to Toy Story.

I liked The Incredibles. It was quite unique for a superhero cartoon movie.
I also loved Cars :D

A Bug's Life is my least favourite Pixar movie.
yea a bugs life sucked, most people dont remember a bugs life because it bombed at the box office and pixar kept it as the black sheep of their films, theres a documentary on pixar i think u might like

But they would have drowned.

As I said, it would have been epic. :D

I agree Nemo wasn't the laugh-a-minute, fast-moving things like the others are (and granted, most of it had a pretty blue tint... weird I know), but it just felt a bit more like a regular movie to me - kind of like half-way through you almost forget they're fish.

Ratatouille was good, I agree. The big reason that wasn't bigger than it was is because of rats. Yes, I know they're animated, cute, talking rats, but that's still a drawback for people.

And while I liked it a lot, A Bug's Life was the most clichéd.

Cars would have been much, much better if (1) they had someone OTHER than Owen Wilson as the main guy, (2) scratch Bonnie Hunt she sounds too old for a supporting role in a kids' movie and (3) they kept it 1.5 hours, not near 2.

I'm a little confused on the criticisms here. Sure Toy Story raised the bar but to call Cars a poor film? Just because they produced an A+ doesn't mean you can't award an A- for a slightly weaker storyline.

I've been a fan of pretty much all of the Pixar movies to come out. Though I must echo the sentiment that I felt Bug's Life was the weakest.

I had doubts about Ratatouille but I ended up really enjoying it.

Up, however, I have no interest in. The trailer just doesn't grab me like I hoped it would. Of course the animation looks great, it always does. The movie just looks a bit boring to me.

Wow. Just WOW! Pixar never ceases to amaze me. Just when i think they can't do what they do better, they do. Up was absolutely fantastic.

It was quite sad, yet was their funniest film yet. It was such an amazing film, i really just can't describe it.

I'll probably be watching it again :)

That was certainly not a kid's movie! I was surprised at how grown-up a lot of the content was - there's an awful lot of stuff there that no kid would ever get.

The film was good. I still prefer WALL-E for story and for outright accomplishment, but UP was quite good, nonetheless.

Agreed! Pixar's work is simply incredible, and Up is no exception. I'd say this is definitely one of their more mature films, seeing as it is quite sad and has several elements that the kids might not fully understand. But then again, the film can easily be enjoyed by both kids and adults. Simply beautiful and fantastic work by Pixar.

Next up... TOY STORY 3!

For those of you who saw it in 3D how was it? What parts did they make "stand out"? They sold out of the last 3D showing so we ended up watching the regular version. Loved it.

And for the Toy Story 3 fans, a teaser trailer.

I think they did a pretty good job of it. A little something for everyone in the film. After seeing the trailers for about a year now, I'm happy to say they didn't reveal anything about the story line. I really hate when the trailers pretty much are the movie.

My daughter (7) was constantly reaching out, although I didn't find it to be "in your face 3d". I would say it's along the lines of Monsters Vs. Aliens.

If your going to see it, I would highly recommend the 3d version. There's a fair amount of depth shots that make the movie really pop visually, but it's not overdone. I really just like wearing those cool glasses ;) :p

They showed the Toy story trailer as part of the coming attractions. June 2010, so I guess we'll be seeing those clips for the next year. I have to say, I was a little tired of the UP trailers.

Oh yes, i forgot to say that the Pixar Short right before the movie was absolutely adorable. Definitely one of my favourite shorts Pixar has made so far :D

SQUIRREL!

We saw "Up" today, I enjoyed it quite a bit. I do think the storyline was over my son's head (pun not intended), but he was able to sit through it - that's saying something for a 4-year-old.

I wouldn't put it up there with Cars or Finding Nemo, but it was definitely better than WALL-E (which I didn't care for at all). There was a laugh here and there, but much of the story was much more serious.

I just got back from seeing Up, and I thought it was pretty amazing. Definitely more adult, but if there's a company on the planet with more creative talent than Pixar, I sure as hell don't know what it is.

Saw this with my 3 year old last Saturday in glorious Disney 3D. She laughed, I tear'ed up a bit; overall fantastic outing from Pixar IMO. Just to scale it, I would say it surpassed Cars, Wall-E, and Ratatouille. Personally I say it's right up there with The Incredibles and Nemo. Just my spare change though...;)

Honestly, I forgot it was 3D after a while. I dunno whether that's good or bad though.
