I hated 'Cars.' My girlfriend and roomate loveeeeee 'Wall-E.'
'Toy Story' holds a wonderful place in my heart.
I don't know about 'Up'

For those of you who saw it in 3D how was it? What parts did they make "stand out"? They sold out of the last 3D showing so we ended up watching the regular version. Loved it.[/URL]

I thought the 3D was a bit of a gimmick. The only other thing I've seen in 3D was the Muppets at Disneyland, but they actually used the 3D for effect. In Up, it simply did not add anything to the film - they didn't use it, it was just there. You don't miss anything not seeing it in 3D, and in fact, the glasses have a really negative impact on the colour, so the film is less visually appealing in 3D.

Oh yes, i forgot to say that the Pixar Short right before the movie was absolutely adorable. Definitely one of my favourite shorts Pixar has made so far :D

There was no short shown where I saw it! Very disappointed by that... :(

Really liked UP. I stil do not get the Cars love, but different strokes for different folks.

Cars is my second from the bottom right above bugs life as the worst.

Incredibles, Monsters, Toy Story top tier
Ratatoullie and Wall e, TS2 are 2nd tier

Use of human characters has been in almost all of the movies.

Honestly, I forgot it was 3D after a while. I dunno whether that's good or bad though.

I think it's bad if you paid extra to watch in 3D and don't feel like you got the added "joy" from it. ;)

I don't get all the hate for Cars. Animated or not, it's one of my all-time favorite movies, especially the story.

We're on vacation in Door County (beautiful place) and it was a rainy day. We went to see "UP" and it felt liked the sun shined through. We both really enjoyed it. Great movie!

To me, this is what makes Pixar so great. Nobody can seem to agree on the best or worst Pixar movie, which tells me that every movie resonated with somebody on some level. That's a pretty impressive amount of consistency.

I'm seeing Up on Sunday. I've heard it's really well done.

I honestly don't know why, but I didn't care for Cars very much either. It wasn't bad, but just not my favorite.

My 3 favorites are Toy Story, Finding Nemo, and Wall-E, but I think Pixar does an amazing job and always beats Dreamworks and other animation studios in terms of quality.

Oh dear, I cried like a blubbering baby. Damn you Pixar!

This, Ratatouille and Monster's Inc are definitely my top favorite Pixar films. Wall-E was excellent but it felt like a Pixar short stretched to an hour and a half, IMO.

from what i've read on other sites it's very funny. most folks seem to love it. i'm planning on taking the boys today so we'll see... ;)

So, I'll just start out with saying this is by no means a "spoiler."

If you watch Up and notice the part where Carl is watching the infomercial about the camera he is actually watching this classic infomercial blooper where the host describes a horse while clearly displaying a butterfly on the screen. My fiance picked this out when we saw it in theaters.

lol.

well we went to see it and to my dismay it was going to cost nearly $5O.OO US for all five of us to see a matinee... so we didn't go. they are charging and extra $3.5O per person because of the 3D!! if we can go see it somewhere without 3D we will.

i thought UP was great. however, you won't miss anything if you don't go with a 3D showing. it just didn't add to the film at all (unlike Coraline 3D which was great and very well used).
as for Cars - yes it is a good story line. it is just too bad that pixar ripped it off completed from the early 90's movie Doc Hollywood. :(

yea a bugs life sucked, most people dont remember a bugs life because it bombed at the box office and pixar kept it as the black sheep of their films, theres a documentary on pixar i think u might like

really? made >360 millions, cost 45 to make.
i am sure a lot of producers would like all their movies to 'bomb' like that.

i really liked bug's life, one of my favourites actually.
the graphics doesn't compare to the current level, but when it came out was amazing.

saw Up yesterday with my son, in 3D.
quite a treat, and funny for me too. i think it doesn't have as much of the "adult" subtext that other stories have (just a nudge here and there) but a great story, and very enjoyable. I am considering whether to bring the 3 ys old as well.

it's funny that cars is by far the least acclaimed pixar movie, especially by critic/adults, but it is the one that has the most enduring power with kids, and they are still making gazillions with merchandising (which is close to inexistent in the vastly superior wall-e).

On detail that i didn't really like in up was that many scenes seemd to be designed to be instantly ported into videogame parts

My wife and I saw it on Monday (6/1) and we really enjoyed it.
I quite liked the 3D, it gave a new aspect to the characters and environments.
It was a cute story, but a little sad.

Anyone knows why Germany (among other countries) has to wait until September for the launch of "UP"?
