Are you trying to tell me that my own personal opinion about something that I use on a daily basis is wrong. You sir are about as arrogant a poster on here that I have ever come accross. My wife has a nexus 7, it's rubbish.
And your first comment, hyperbole much???

You don't like it, we get it. Judging by the millions and millions of repeat customers that Samsung get, you are maybe in a minority..

Well you know what they say about us Northerners - 'we never let a thought go unsaid' :) Don't fret, I'm sure you will get over it. :p

Photos from the iPhone versus the Pixel remind me of when I have my Canon 5D in different settings. The iPhone appears to take pictures in a similar mode as RAW, or JEPEG with no enhancements enabled, while the Pixel gives me the impression of having one of the picture styles enabled that inject more saturation / sharpness.

It is kind of a draw for me honestly, and at the end of the day, I like to see Google take more charge with their phones. After using one in person (The Pixel),I find it has a good hand feel, and do like the display and lighter UI as compared to Samsung's version of Android.

I'm mostly an Android user. I've used nexuses, Nexii? in the past. I have a Samsung Device, and I wouldn't mind the Google Pixel myself.

But $650? or $899 Canadian? its a good phone, i have little complaints with what I see. BUt it's not a $650 phone. It's on par IMHO with the OnePlus3 and those higher "mid range" devices. The price is a massive turn off for me. I'm no stranger to paying that for a phone, but I can't in my mind, justify it for the Pixel

Absolutely. It's always been easy for Android users (or Apple haters) to justify their purchases by saying "iPhones are too expensive". More products priced like this will leave them with only "Androids are more customizable". They used to be able to argue features, specs, and raw speed over more expensive iPhones, but now with iPhone's continued massive speed improvements and Pixel's lack of additional features, that is not the case at all.

Price has never been an issue for me. So your opinion doesn't speak for many Android users. Go on Android Central right now and their opinions about iOS is very, very valid. Not everyone wants an ecosystem or using proprietary stuff like iTunes and iCloud. Macs can drag and drop without using iTunes. Can recognize SSD. Has SD slot. Can do torrents. While iOS is the most crippling, restrictive OS out there compared to its Mac OSX sibling.

If you go on Apple website, it is labeled in that order. Mac, iPad, iPhone. I feel iPads have better multi-window features than iPhones but guess why iPhones are more popular? One, because it is a smartphone. Everyone needs one. Imagine if iPads had real telephone capabilities? The other surprisingly is PRICE. Nobody can pay thousands of dollars on Macs and $900 iPad Pro on the spot but $15-$30 per month on contract for two years is easier with iPhones. Reason why Apple is pushing more mobile devices to us because of the faster upgrade cycles.

Referring back on topic, I underestimated Pixel based on looks. According to a lot of reviewers, it seems to have the best software experience for an Android device. I sorta agree in one thread where Google can win the future. Why? They have the most data to do things for robots, AI, VR, and AR. Google Assistant is destroying Siri in accuracy. I find the whole uniformed look redundant. I believe each brand excels at certain areas in tech. Apple doesn't excel in everything. Most people prefer Google services anyway and people buy Samsung TVs and whatever appliance. While I believe Apple make better computers than they do with phones.

Well at least your post made me laugh if nothing else. Android are constantly innovating whilst iOS looks and feels more dated then ever. The iPhone 7 launch has to be one of the biggest smoke and mirrors trick Apple have ever pulled. Let's use the same design as we have for the last couple of years, a couple of tweaks here and there and Apple fans will never notice.

While your post as a whole made almost zero sense to me, I will respond to the first few sentences. In fact, your first sentence works against your second one quite effectively. 80% of Americans are living in debt, which means price is an issue for them whether they admit it or not. The people that I know that buy Androids (quite a few) have nearly always mentioned the price in their decision. So, I would submit that your opinion actually speaks for fewer people than mine does.

Believe me, I have my own issues with the iPhone. I have owned 3 Androids (to my 5 iPhones), so I'm no stranger to the competition. In any case, my original point remains: the Pixel seems to be the first Android phone that can potentially offer an iPhone-level user experience, but it still is quite far behind on several fronts. The fact that they want to ask the exact same price as the iPhone means this phone has almost zero chance of being the game changer that they hope it will be. If they drop the price by at least $150, then they might be able to really go somewhere.

The iPhone 7 is my favorite phone ever, and I'm an electrical engineer who pays close attention to every little detail of my devices. I also never said Android doesn't innovate. My point was that, if an Android phone is going to carry the same price as the iPhone, it needs to best it on more features/specs than just the screen. I just listed quite a few ways the iPhone handily beats out the Pixel, but if you like throwing away your privacy to google that much, by all means, go ahead and buy a Pixel instead.

Well ignoring your assertion that iPhone handily beats Pixel as it clearly doesn't, I'm far more interested in your privacy jibe. What is it with you Americans and privacy? You all appear to be paranoid about this and I can only assume it's either part of your culture to be this way or it's something you have been spoon fed by the media over a long period of time.

Do you think if you have an iPhone your privacy is somehow safe? Just about everything you do these days is tracked and recorded in some way, and that applies whatever device you use. Another point to remember is that a very large proportion of iPhone users use Google apps on their phone anyway.

Where there is no privacy, there is no true freedom. In America we don't trust the government to always do the right thing. It has nothing to do with the media. Privacy can and does still exist here.

My original post listed several ways the iPhone beats out the Pixel. OIS. Waterproof. Faster. Physical stores. iMessage. Desktop OS integration. Accessory ecosystem. Not Verizon-exclusive. Resale value. etc.

Hear me out, I'm not saying the Pixel is a bad phone. It does in fact do a few things better than the iPhone. If you're an Android guy, it may very well be the best of the best. I'm only asserting that for an average user, the iPhone is a better phone and a better value.

I use zero google apps on my phone, and I don't plan on ever doing so. Even if I did, having one or two google apps on an iPhone that has very specific privacy settings is not the same as having a phone and software combination that is entirely google.

Even for the average user I don't accept your premise that the iPhone is better. iPhone 7 battery life is poor, just about every review confirms this. iOS is looking really dated now and to be honest is way behind Android. It doesn't mean iOS is bad it's just not innovated like Android has. I don't even think the design is anything special either when you look at some of the competition in the Android world.

You have to hope the rumour mill is correct and the anniversary iPhone is going to be something special. If it isn't then even Apple fans are going to start saying 'look the Emperor isn't wearing any clothes'.

pixel camera ias fantastic. Think most are saying the best on any phone. While I think thats debatable it's certainly top 2-3 easily.

I think in terms of pure android it's the best you can get. No lag very smooth as pure android should be.
