General Planet being says he and pod2g have good news

I don't. They already said that unless 6.1.0 closest the loop, there won't be a jailbreak

No they didn't...

@planetbeing gave 2 reasons not to release:
1) find at least 1 more exploit to have a reserve to get in for future jailbreaks
2) wait for 6.1

They fixed 1 so that leaves 2

On a new release there are always parts that break and need to be fixed.

If they know it is fixed he wouldn't have said that.

You do realize the iPhone OS 6 jailbreak uses not one exploit but two, right? Main reason why not to release it.

Wrong again. Upwards of 4. They needed one more backup for one of the four. From the sounds of their tweets, they have backup exploit for those 4+ required, thus they want 6.1 dropped for a jail break.

Hasn't 6.1 beta's already been released to developers? I have a feeling that they already know what's in 6.1.

I can't imagine that 6.1 final is going to change all that much from the beta

They could still easily patch a hole if they find it because a jailbreak is released, so it makes sense to wait.

Even though I'am not very supportive of the jailbreak cause, I would like to see some documentary about it - explaining how it's possible and how they do it.

That would be interesting.

Why don't you support jailbreaking? It's your device, you should be able to do what you want with it.

They have been "looking for" "finding" and then "waiting" for release after release...

Watch this post: They will NOT release a jb when 6.1 hits. It will be another excuse about how important it is to preserve the jb for the next firmware...

Rinse and repeat ad nauseum.

This is why I just forgot about jailbreaking. It was awesome when people like GeoHot released what he had WHEN HE HAD IT because he had the confidence he'd be able to find something new if they patched it.

Now PB and the boys just want to keep it for themselves. Fair enough, but if you honestly believe they are "close", just be prepared for another excuse...

It's ultimately their exploit. I just miss the days of the hackers who were confident enough in their own abilities to release what they had when they had it, not the ones scared of what "might" happen if they do. It's their call, it's just annoying to hear all of the hope all of the time only to hear another "we have to wait because...".

It is what it is

(and as an aside, I donated $100 to the old dev team, and almost $200 to George.... I do appreciate the work they do, just not what it's turned into. It used to be a cat and mouse, now it's just two cats and we're the mouse...)

Source? They seem to indicate that they are waiting for 6.1 to go official before releasing JB. Anything else would just back up my comments awhile ago about just wanting attention.

There's plenty actually. You can start here:

Will the jailbreak be released the same day as 6.1 is released to the public? Unlikely.

The devs will want to finish making the tool, and bug test the exploits to ensure no changes have been made in the final release of 6.1 to ensure the highest compatibility and least amount of issues in the jailbreak process.

But given the tweet below, it seems like we really are just waiting for 6.1 and the jailbreak will follow soon after:

That discussion wasn't very useful...

They'll release it when it is ready, might take a while after 6.1 is released to fix any broken parts.

Sorry how do you know that? Even if that is the case and none of the new exploits they've found are compatible with 6.1 there's still the option of releasing a 6.0.2 Jailbreak.

There are some misunderstandings going on here ...

There is a very high probability that 6.1 will not burn "excessive amount" of exploits, thus they will release the jailbreak for the most up to date firmware, 6.1. This grants the greatest number of devices now and into the future accessibility to the jailbreak.

The JB dev tweets would sing a different tune if 6.1 screwed up the exploits IMO.

Wait, weren't you one of those loudly supporting all the fake jailbreak websites/claims just a few weeks ago ?

Young mind for jailbreak. I feel pretty sad for those posts now, hah, you can imagine.

What I mean by my post here, and I think it went to a misunderstanding. You see, I like the jailbreak. But not for it's piracy. For the tweaks and the "open source". Now, I will keep buying apps legitimately, because thats when the piracy comes in.

I'm hoping they have one ready, as they've seen the 6.1 beta, I dont think much changes from the beta to the final release (at least I hope not)
