In Pages, it's just not a direct drop into a DropBox folder (which it shouldn't be), you can easily do the Save-As and put it into a DropBox folder. And if your question to me is "Why shouldn't it be?", because I use BOX rather than DropBox which just shows that people have different choices for online storage so it only makes sense for Apple to choose their cloud storage by default.
I don't know how MS does it for Office but I'm sure you can easily get your MS files into DropBox.

Honestly, some people on this forum make things more complicated for themselves and expect everything to work only their way as if no one else is using the software but them. :p

OHHHHHH cool. I haven't used new pages much so hadn't noticed it had changed. used to have to either email myself or open pages on computer and download a doc to put into dropbox but this lets me share to dropbox. didn't used to (only dropbox > pages). Nice.

Although they could do what 'CloudOn' do and integrate with lots of apps within their own app so you don't have to mess around going backwards and forwards saving and sharing. Could be much simpler

Deny do people think it should have Drpbox support? What does it have over onedrive? I have both but use onedrive more. Why do people prefer Dropbox?

Not at the moment. I have pages, numbers, keynote for when I am out and I just bought a subscription to parrallels access for the year for $14.99. So I am good for the next year. Access to ms office via my Mac mini for just over $1/month for the year.

For anything intensive I am going to break out my transformer T100 for a keyboard and mouse. Or go to my mac.

I use Dropbox to share files with other people in my office, so getting them all to move to OneDrive is a major IT operation.

For all of you using and happy with Office on your iPad, how are you finding the tie-in with OneDrive? Is it working well for you?
I'm not so happy with this bit. I've been creating documents on my iMac and saving them to the OneDrive folder but they don't appear on my iPad automatically. Still not clear on what I do that makes them sometimes appear on the iPad.

Did you navigate to OneDrive in the office app? Like DropBox, OneDrive does not automatically download files to your mobile device, until you select what you want to edit.

My preference for DropBox is that I have been using it for years. I have one account and my whole company shares files that I allow and I can also keep my personal stuff there.

Sure hope that DropBox and MS Office will play better with each other, I am sure DropBox is working on it.

I would LOVE to be able to "sync" a whole folder to my iPad like it does on my desk and laptops, but I do not see Apple ever letting that happen.

DropBox is a direct competitor to OneDrive so I doubt if MS would allow it. I've always used OneDrive (as SkyDrive is now called) in preference to DroBox, not sure why, always just found it more continent to share files that way..
If you already have dropBox set up and are using it extensively I can see it would be a pain to change.

My company and every field employee depends on DropBox outside the office. I do not think that SkyDrive or One Drive were even around when I started using DropBox. Yep it would be a pain and I still hope that DropBox comes up with some help one day. It is APPLE who really stops me from syncing all my files to my field devices, not MS.

Yes, I do that, but the files do not appear there consistently. I think maybe the issue might have been that I did not set the OneDrive app on my iMac to open at login. Perhaps if that app is not open then the Office app on my iPad would not show the same files as are in the OneDrive folder on my iMac?

That's it, I did the same thing when I first started using Office

It now runs all the time, and all my files show up in the cloud :)

I kept editing a spreadsheet on my Mac and then wanting to view it on my iPad, it was never there. I for the life of me couldn't figure out why until I saw that there was no little cloud icon on the menu bar

I have decided I probably need to buy 365. Our school uses it, I'd rather use iWork, but using it with 365 would be impossibly kludgy. The online office apps work ok with simple text docs, but most of the docs we use have tables that the online version doesn't like.

I'm actually very pleased with the Office apps now. It's very nice not having to worry about conversion or compatibility issues. Everything works well with OneDrive sync and the apps themselves are a pleasure to use. The only thing is that I wish their offline mode worked seamlessly like iCloud.

Using Office on the iPad has been great and I feel the Office 365 subscription is well worth the price that I pay now. Everything is working seamlessly through OneDrive and using the iPad apps has been a lot better than I expected. Now I hope they update the mac Apps soon so that they are just as enjoyable to work with. I use the Windows versions at work and the mac versions at home with the iPad pretty much in use away from any desk. Works great for me.

Agreed, In some cases I had to sets of spreadsheets one I used at work and one I had on my iPad via iWork. Because Numbers imported and rendered spreadsheets differently there was no way for me to use that consistently.

Now all my documents and spreadsheets have the same look and feel across platforms.
