We just got fake unlimited plans back with LTE, now the carriers are going to charge extra for something that doesn’t even work in most places. I couldn’t care less either way, including it or not including it. 5G will have more of an impact on IoT type devices than cellphones.

Same here. As long as bandwidth is heavily regulated and cut off after the allowance there’s hardly any benefit in my area, if any.

They're only fake if you live in an area that suffers from congestion, and if that's the case, you should look at switching carriers.

You don’t get unlimited hotspot/tethering on any of them, most limit your streaming quality unless you pay extra and all of them will de-prioritize when you hit a certain limit (22-75gb or something). Maybe we have different meanings of unlimited, but that sounds like a limited plan to me.

The point I was trying to make is that 5G will just increase the cost of plans again with no real benefit for most.

I don't care if it takes 5 years for 5G to come to iPhones.

It's a feature I wont be using anyway!
