Please confirm GM and final are the same now

Hi guys, im using now iOS7 beta 6.. can i straight update it to iOS7 official release?(i mean, will it show up on the software update?) help me pls.. thanks..
 
I'm running ios 7 GM on an iphone 5 and I had no update today. Looks like they're the same.

For those who want to now if Apple is releasing the same firmware todays as they delivered with the Golden Master, I've downloaded the new .ipsw file for my iPhone 5 (A1429) and calculated the SHA1 hash

iOS 7 Final file iPhone5,2_7.0_11A465_Restore.ipsw
SHA1: 137e2031a4c03b5da2e05bf33b2741883131371c

iOS 7 Golden Master iPhone5,2_7.0_11A465_Restore.ipsw
SHA1: 137e2031a4c03b5da2e05bf33b2741883131371c

Both have the same SHA1 hash, so we can conclude that they are exactly the same file, so users running the Golden Master are actually running the final version and do not need to update.

yes, very same indeed, question sir.. im currently downloading the iOS7 Final file.. and i am running the iOS7 golden master (iOS7 beta6 i guess)..

Can i also update my file to the final file, using .ipsw? then shift left click? just like what i did to the 6.1.3 to 7.0? :confused:

Beta 6 and Golden Master are different. The GM is the same thing as the public release that was released today. They are no different. There is no need to update to anything as there is no difference, they are the same thing.

as stated numerous times, if you are running the GM, there is nothing to update. however if you are running beta 6 (which is NOT the same as the GM) then you do need to update either by iTunes or IPSW. and yes, the shift click to update to the IPSW GM or Final.
 
I guarantee once 7.0.1 is released and everyone updates perfectly fine people will STILL talk about whether GM was the same :rolleyes:

Thanks for this so im guessing any future updates for example ios7.01 etc.. will be updated normally for GM users..

Also when I updated to GM I had installed iTunes 11.1 beta2 should i get the normal build if yes a normal installation will do it Im guessing...

thanks very much sir, u cleared my scumbag mind from thinking too many things.. :D

btw, i envy you, i didnt have the chance to update to GM.. :(

since the GM = Final, all OTA updates will be available as normal for people on the GM going forward.

youre welcome. and im glad i did ahead of time, since im seeing everyone scramble like a mad man to get it now.
 
I have the bug where the album cover doesn't show but only the artist pics through out beta and GM. I deleted the GM and install it again OTA. The OTA install fixed the missing album cover bug. :)

Other than that everthing else looks the same. I happy :D
 
i just downloaded ios 7 again to compare file hashes so i can confirm GA=GM

very likely yes.. i think i'ved missed the GM update of the iOS7... anyway, trying to download the official right now, and seems like the links of the iOS7 official are been erased.. wtf.
