Any info on Orlando area stores?
I bought one at Altamonte. Was there at 9AM, waited 90 minutes to get a reservation (at 2PM), came back at 2PM and had a phone in my hands in 30 minutes.

At the time I made my reservation, you could get any model, any color, any size, any carrier.

I don't know if things tightened on options later in the day, but when I left, they were still taking reservations, and the line for that was ~15 minutes. Not sure what time they were telling people to come back.

Honestly, it was surprisingly easy, and I think less of a hassle than waking up at 3:01AM.

Went to the Holyoke mall around 2pm still had stock. Think they ran out shortly after. Cancelled my preorder which was scheduled to arrive 11/17-11/24 and my Upgrade became immediately available again and purchased 256gb silver.

Anyone thought up using the very thing you want to buy and....call them?

I called my local Apple store and sat on hold for 15 minutes. Sounded like I got somebody in a call center who said they didn’t have stock. Not convinced that the information was accurate so I may just head over there to find out for sure.

All apple stores in the greater Seattle area did not receive walk in iPhones as previously reported.

Just visited AT&T in Redmond TC and they were sold out as well. The lady there told me all stores nationwide are sold out but not sure how accurate that is.

Just walked into a target at 7:27pm and checking out an iphone x now. Gonna cancel my preorder. Ill prob never preorder again. For the last 2 iPhones ive been able to walk in and purchase on launch day no reservations

Will we be able to check inventory online and reserve for in store pickup?

My local Apple store told me this begins tomorrow.
[doublepost=1509756864][/doublepost]By the way Pasadena store had stock around 4pm when I called. I got there at 5 and they were sold out

My local Apple store has decent lines, but they are saying they have "plenty" of phones. What happened to all that scarcity talk? Was it Apple giving a script to the supply chain to give the appearance of scarcity? And the improving shipment times is also odd.
My Apple store only had 64GB models. If you wanted a 256gb you had to wait in line hoping they magically appeared (literally) - the employees didnt know if they had any or not.

I stopped by my local Apple store in Pittsburgh around 7 pm just to take a look at the iPhone X. I was stopped at the door and I asked if they still had the iPhone X available. There were about 3 people in line and I was told that they were only selling to those with reservations at that point but that they still had phones. Odd way to do business.

My brother was on a business trip in Hawaii (poor guy) and decided to wait in line at the Apple store there. I think he had to wait in a very slow-moving line for about 90 minutes or more, but just got his and he had his choice of any color and storage configuration. Of course, Hawaii might be an unusual location to gauge things by.

FWIW...in the past, I've almost always been able to score an iPhone on launch day at an AT&T store. It wasn't even on my radar today because I honestly haven't had much interest. Each year I've had less and less interest in the latest iPhone releases. I'm still on my 6s. I don't like the Plus models, because they're too big. I like to use them one-handed. In some ways, I even think the 6s is a bit too big and have thought about getting an SE. All that said, today I started thinking about it some more and I might go ahead and get the X. Not as small as I'd like it to be, but smaller than the Plus models.

I’ve been ordering launch day iPhones every year since the first iPhone. This is the first year I did not get it, and instead ended up with 11-17 to 11-24.
I meant as far as walking into a store and picking one up. I've seen lots of posts where people pre-ordered, walked in store, cancelled their pre-order, and walked out of the store with an iPhone X. The pre-orders got pushed back but lots have gotten one from a store. Not saying everyone, but lots.

My husband went and waited in line for a few hours and picked up a 256gb silver for me so I could cancel my preorder that had a crappy delivery date of 11/17-11/24. Probably 250 in line were guaranteed phones. Verizon people seemed to be screwed because he said they sold out quickly, but they had a lot of AT&T models. Super stoked and I absolutely love this phone.

Walked into one of my local Apple Stores here in Atlanta around 2pm and they had phones all the way up until maybe 6pm when they stated that they were getting low. Def seems like some stores had plenty of stock. I canceled my preorder and was out the door.

Makes more sense. American company and America has the highest revenues for Apple.
More sales are overseas and Apple gets a higher price per unit from selling elsewhere (they charge a premium...higher than the exchange rate). Ditto on Apple Care +.

So, from a business standpoint, they stand to make more revenue by making the phones available elsewhere first.

Went to Apple Main Place today in Naperville and they were sold out. The very nice lady told me to check tomorrow or for sure they should have some on Monday.

I mentioned this in another post, that I think Apple NEEDS to have lines and the appearance of scarcity. If there are no lines, then Wall Street panics and the stock plummets. Scarcity and lines are a definite expectation Maybe scarcity is a reality, but I wouldn't put it past Apple to work things so that this scarcity stays a reality.
[doublepost=1509721562][/doublepost]As an update... A friend of mine who had been waiting since 4 AM said the lines are gone and they still have phones. People are walking in and making a purchase.

Absolutely correct. Lets not forget, Apple is a marketing company and they are the best at two things:
1. Covering up ****
2. Manipulation of the supply chains

I waited in line behind around 150 people, and got two phones. By that point they were out of Sprint, but had a few hundred phones left for the other carriers. Looks like everyone who was in line by 8 am will get one today.

That’s ironic because Sprint was one of the only ones that still had 11/3 date shipping hours after preorders started lol.

Earlier today at around 11:30AM I was just checking on Apple.com and able to order 2 T-Mobile (unlocked) Space Gray 256GB for pickup at a local Apple store in the afternoon. Verizon models were all sold out, but there were a few T-Mobile ones available.

U.S. has the highest sales of any individual country.

" Margins on sales of the Company’s products in foreign countries, and on sales of products that include components obtained from foreign suppliers, can be adversely affected by foreign currency exchange rate fluctuations and by international trade regulations, including tariffs and antidumping penalties."

In other-words this is saying you can't make some blanket statement what the actual margins on sales are without discussing it on a country by country basis. I would assume Apple has highly paid egg heads far smarter than you and I that have looked into this subject pretty thoroughly and are well compensated in doing so.
