why are you getting people's hopes up for no apparent reason? when did you become a reliable source of information? Why should i trust you?

pod2g and the rest of the team is the only reliable source. and judging by planet being's latest tweet, I think it's fair to assume it's not releasing tonight.

Maybe.

There are still a lot of 3GS', iPhone 4, iPad, iTouch 3, iTouch 4 that are already jailbroken.

I'm sure there will be some immediate issues, but I would think the A4 5.0.1 release would be worse.
 
In currently downloading the firmwares for my 4S and iPad 2 in preparation. Does anyone know if both 5.0.1 9A405 and 9A406 will work? I'm getting them both just to be ready for anything ;)

There is only 94A06 for the iPhone 4S. If there is one for the iPad 2 as well, then it's identical to the 94A05. 94A06 only contained baseband updates to "fix" the No Sim error in some iPhone 4S.

Either way you can't unlock, so it's irrelevant. Might as well go with the newer 9A406.

Don't forget. Even though you have the firmware, you still need to reach Apple's servers to verify. If the new release slows down this process and you wait to the last minute you may be forced to 5.1 if there's no 5.0 jailbreak.
 
Unless something changed you got 94A05 using the over the air update on the phone and 94A06 if you used itunes.

Not sure both are available anymore as i did 94A05 on my 4s awhile ago.

But yeah they are both pretty much identical from what i gathered expect the baseband so i guess either way is good :).
 
I'm patient and appreciative of the "Dream Team's" work - I took a different path, academically speaking, in life, rather than Computer Science, so I know I could not do what they do without receiving an education in their field.

However, is anyone else a little frustrated that the "Dream Team" keeps posting teasers, thus kind of mocking everyone (since they know the A5 JB has been anticipated for ~4 months, ever since the 4S release)?

To be honest, I'd rather they not post anything and release the JB spontaneously rather than keep updating their News Feeds with teasers everyday. It's slightly frustrating. Anyone else agree/disagree?
 
Why do some people think what planetbeing said means it won't be out tonight. If anything I would think its good news being he said today was productive, AKA got everything done.

I've already upgraded my 4S to 5.0.1 and did so on the first day via OTA. Don't redsn0w and pwnage need firmware files to work? That's what I'm downloading the ipsw for.

That is if this a jailbreak which utilizes those programs!

I agree, I mean like you said I totally appreciate everything they have done but it would be great it they just gave random updates but not all these pictures and videos of it fully working. They know people are going to go crazy.

Lol you panic at everything that could be taken both ways.

Who the heck knows what he meant. Maybe productive day means he took out the trash or walked his dog ??.

You seriously need to find something else to do till the jailbreak hits or you might have a stroke.

LOL Its so funny cause its true, I gotta walk away from this computer and find something to do. When i step back and see what I'm writing its kinda scary hahaha

Well, for one I hope eager beaver is right. I'm gonna put on a movie, watch it and hope for the best, if not no big deal. It'll be here soon enough! Luckily I'm on CST so not much longer now!

lol WHY would he be right? everything is simply speculation and guesses at the moment. it can be out tonight...or a week from now. nothing is set in stone.
