I know what you mean and ironically, your metaphore fits perfectly with a new trailer for resident Evil: Retribution that came out today and the movie won't be out for almost a year. Milla Jovovich has been tweeting video's and updates during the whole shooting of the movie, which has been cool, but now having to wait 10 months or more to see the movie is not fun.

Link to trailer. And yes, it starts out like a regular commercial... http://t.co/sAF0ggd2

I've been avoiding watching that trailer. Which I also do for other movies I already know I want to watch like Underworld Awakening

Defintely not 14 days more like a 3 day trial.
My bad. It's been a few weeks since I bought it so I guess I forgot

Just a heads up; america isn't the only country that has iphones
I hope they release it while I'm asleep so by the time I get up, things would have calmed down and I can get to it:p

I don't give 2 ***** about Siri...

Jailbreak is much more important imo ;)

I agree that JB is more important but I still want to be able to use Siri. I don't use it that often but it would feel wrong knowing that something doesn't work on my phone when it should.

I use Siri all the time in the car with my BT headset to listen to and respond to text messages. It's still got a ways to guy, functionality and error-wise, but it's a step in a great direction.

I would like to have both though.

Im really getting tired, i feel like i have been refreshing since 11am EST and its now 5:30pm....Something needs to happen here or they need to tell us its not gonna happen soon

A watched pot never boils...

Go do something else if its frustrating you that much because its not like the Jailbreak is going to disappear even if you do for a few hours :).

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A405 Safari/7534.48.3)

On the bright side, it is supposedly a JB that you can do on your phone. So you wouldn't really need to sit by your computer.

Go do something. I just saw a movie and came back home but still no luck :p

Ive been telling myself I am going to go do something but I keep telling myself 15 more mins...but 15 mins turns into 6 hours lol

Going to eat, be back in 20, lets hope you guys are celebrating when I get back, save me a copy of the JB please :)

It would be cool if it does in fact to turn out to be a jb you can do on your device.

I think I'm gonna be doing that now.
but if siri is broken :( why did i get my 4s??
Are we even certain this is going to be an issue on all devices or is it just i0nic who reported this? I would like to be able to use Siri but I'm going to jb even if I'll lose Siri. Hopefully someone will fix it like they did with iBooks.

i mean it is noticeably faster, esp. w/ browsing and games. but i dunno...oh well i had a free upgrade and i can just sell this for 300+ when iphone 5 comes out and use next upgrade. beauty of family plan.

If people spend $10 - 20 merely on screen protectors every time they buy a new iPhone... then $10 - 20 should be standard donation to a person who comes out with a jailbreak which doubles the customization of their phone.
I don't waste my money on screen protectors at all, so that voids that argument.

Nice try... but no:

#1 Most people spend between $10 - 30 on some combination of screen protectors or cases. A donation of that same range ($10 - 20) should go to the developers who work their asses off to come out with a jailbreak which increases the capabilities and value of a device way more than screen protectors or a case would.

#2 Quit acting like a kid saying "your whole argument is void" just because a certain stipulation doesn't apply to you in particular yet applies to many (which is what I was talking about in the first place)

How about treating a donation like the greatest $10 app you'll ever buy?......
Then you have to buy that "app" again, and again and again, every time you update to the new OS.

Then don't update every single time that Apple releases some minor 5.0X update. Simply update when its a major os overhaul (say from 5.0 -> 6.0) or donate $10 - 20 when the developers come out with another major jailbreak.

I mean jeez I give more than that to homeless people on the street every couple of months, and yet you want to complain about a mere $10 donation to developers once a year?

I haven't used Siri since the first day of the 4S ... I'll gladly take my JB over Siri.

But by the way Apple, the more annoying ways you prevent jail breaking, the less likely I'll be to buy your phone.

Hope ths tweet doesn't delay anything.

Anyone seen any jailbreak detection in Siri? Siri stopped working after a day of running with jailbroken kernel on the iPhone 4S ... @i0n1c

I don't know..

Someone else responded to him, and I'm hoping someone here knows, because for all I know, we don't know:

@i0n1c Doesn't Siri use FairPlay in parts to protect itself? That has jailbreak detection as far as OI know.

If so, definite delay in release.

It shouldnt everyone thought that apple would have something to tell server ur jailbroken but ionic may be fooling

Again, I don't know.. Since some of the previous jailbreaks they were using required developer accounts, that could have turned such detection off. with that developer access now out of the way, those protections could have been returned back into place..

BL.

I really doubt it breaks Siri because pods 4s has been JB for about a week now and if there was a problem he would have already known about it. Plus ionic is his own hacker no telling what he did to his 4S.

u seriously think every time you synced your jb device to iTunes apple didn't no? Its not an issue them knowing plus i still think he's playing or pod would no he's been jb for a while

There is no delay, there is no possible way that they just found out about siri not working today, the video pod2g posted days ago was of a jailbroken phone days before that. Maybe the jailbrake ionic is on is not the same as the dev teams

You don't come out and say this Jailbreak will be "the greatest yet" while disabling original features of the phone. I'm not worried.
