You do not understand statistics. Just because the people you know don't use installous, there are thousands of people who do and this larger sample size evens out the percentage.
No, clearly, YOU don't understand statistics. A large sample size does not compensate for the fact that a large part of your sample comes from the Installous forums. Go learn proper survey methodology before you accuse people of not knowing statistics.

You have not provided any statistics, just your uninformed opinion and when you are called on it, you act the victim. Regardless of how many people use Installous, everyone who does is scum.

95% is one statistic - if that isn't one, then enlighten me about a true statistic.
Overgeneralizing and indirectly implying that I "scum", yeah I'm totally not the victim here.

It looks as if you don't understand statistics at all. Hopefully you understand after this theoretical example.

Case Study#1
10 people- 9 people don't use installous , 1 person does.

Case Study#2
10,000 people- 2000 people don't use installous , 8000 people do.

A larger sample size takes in to account a much wider and larger variety of people to produces more accurate results. One of the fundamentals of statistic, if you don't understand this, than don't talk about statistics.

Yes and no. Larger sample size doesn't mean better prediction if the respondents are not chosen randomly (or hand picked to represent the society, but that's more tedious work). Personal accounts, youtube comments and Installous forums wouldn't be accepted as a statistically proven result by anyone with half a clue... For instance, Gallup still makes phone calls to get their answers, but they've gone from having 100 % land line respondents to now having 85 % land line and 15 % cell phone respondents, because of how society has changed and not everyone have land lines anymore.

I'm not saying your wrong, because I don't know the answer. But 95 % does sound like a very high number. And to be honest, I guess this forum represent the average jailbreaker better than an Installous forum when it comes to the usage of Installous...

Let's ask people how often they have sex. Gallup gets 1 000 people to answer, Durex gets 10 000 answers on their webpage. Which result would you think is more accurate?

95% is a number you picked out of no where with absolutely zero evidence. My 'statistic' indicates 97% of all jailbreakers do not use Installous.

Overgeneralizing and indirectly implying that I "scum", yeah I'm totally not the victim here.
Since when are people who steal from other people victims?

One of the fundamentals of statistics is also randomized sampling. I'm going type it out again because it seems like you didn't even bother reading my post: large sample size does not counter the fact that your sample was not chosen randomly. Personal accounts, YouTube comments, and most of all, Installous forum users does not equal a randomly selected sample.

Again, having chosen to use Installous forum users skews your results.

Can we please get back on topic? Come on, will y'all just let this one lie if I show you the truth? Sure you can argue it's validity but I have an idea- START A DIFFERENT THREAD ON THE TOPIC!!! That way I don't have to sift through it...

Simple Google search: How Many Jailbreakers Pirate Apps?

"Recently, we were able to speak with the man behind the largest community of pirated, or cracked, apps on the internet. It’s called *edit;, and yes, it even has an app of its own on the jailbreak App Store.

He and the *edit; community have developed a way for users with jailbroken iDevices to download copies of many popular apps in the App Store completely free of charge. Based on his answers we now have a sense of just how large this phenomena of App Store pirates is, and what drives him to continue to create and improve his network.

He sees more than 10 million unique visitors on *edit; every month, with millions of hits a day. When you consider there are about a 100 million iOS devices in the wild, and something like 10% of them are jailbroken (according to Cydia’s creator, Saurik), this number is shockingly high.

Currently, it’s installed on more than four million devices and growing. That’s about 4% of all iOS users, 40% of jailbroken devices.

Well said mod. Talk about off topic!

Omg. The children and cry babies in this thread. Like, come on.

OT: I miss my JB so much on my 4S. Pod2g you're killing me with this suspense!

Same! Fixing to swap my phone for my wife's iphone 4, I just keep telling myself to wait a little longer cause the 4s is gonna be sweet jail broken!

Same here I kinda had a feeling we were going to here something today. Something good. But as the time ticks on I have have less of that feeling. I wonder if any of the members of the "Dream Team" are going to CES. I kinda hope not but i guess we will have to wait and see.

If your a geek you wanna be at CES so I'd say good possibility! :( I keep swiping sbsetting but it's not there. I did learn siri dictation will let me swear now though. :D

Strange, I've had a weird feeling inside like we were going to hear something all day as well. I really have expected it to hit over the weekend, dunno why. Just did. I'm sticking by his original statement, he knew the hole used was one in which you had to have a dev account with apple- yet he STILL tweeted saying a week. So going based off that you have to hold out some kind of hope that there will be. Gosh, where are the good ole days? I remember the day I got my ViP4 several days before launch. I'm fairly certain it was already jailbroken on 4.2.6. My battery woes are gone so if they could just release something for 5.0.1 and A5, I would stick with this until a bootrom exploit or something was found. All the MAJOR features of ios 5 that everyone wanted are already here. They aren't going to add many more. Gotta save em for ios 6,7,8.... Only improve on the ones that were added for 5. I would have no problems sitting on a jailbroken 5.0.1.

Untether for A4 and below was released on a Tuesday. Don't know if there is any sort of pattern to JB releases but who knows, maybe we will c something by then. I'm almost certain pod has said he will be going to CES. At least for a couple days, it would be the **** of he released his JB then so we would have that and JB to be excited about. ATM its anyone's guess. As I've stated before in here, look at the iPad 2. It's only had one FW ever that could be JB. That's not the most promising thing in itself. I guess I'll just keep the faith;-)

only thing that's been bothering me is since the dream team announced. they have all been very quite. not even small talk really. hopefully it's good and they are all hard at work.

Not sure why so many people cant spell the word quiet.

OK you got me! yes... I am the 1st to admit I'm a bad speller. However that's another story, any way you thanks for the help.

If I were a betting man, I'd wager it was just a simple typo on the part of labman.

Isn't there a case of the pot calling the kettle black here, though? The two contractions you used (you're and can't) appear to be missing apostrophes. Oh, and you didn't end your third question with a question mark.

Now...back to the topic. Good luck dream team!! :)

thanks for the assist. Like I said I can admit I'm a bad speller. I also can admit I make mistakes. I can also take it as well as dish it out. However I'd like to see the thread back on topic. :D

I'm just hoping we see something before week end. Either a release or some sort of status update. I don't mind being patient, but it's always appreciated when we get updates :D
