I thought about doing that, but I don't wanna make another iTunes account just to play Pokemon Go. :(

It's not 'just to play Pokemon Go' but to access new games and apps as they are released. I have gyms right here in Kenya which is just about the last place they'll release it and I've caught 4 monsters already without trying too hard

Ja its like nearly impossible to level up now or to gain experience. All the gyms around me are at 900 or even higher

You can beat on them with a team of low level Pokemons. I threw a bunch of 200's at 700 and we (me and the kids) took over a Gym. It's our turf now! :p

No more pokemon! Please put this **** in some other place no one wants to hear about this crap it has nothing to do with Apple or the front page!

I want to hear about it and I think it's great!

What amazes me is the number of adults walking around with their faces glued to their phones. I find it all a bit sad.

In the meantime, I'll return to my real life and enjoy time with my wife, dogs, friends, and probably go for a cycle too....

You know its probably the adults that grew up with this game. Bit of nostalgia never hurt anyone

Yes but if you do that, you have problems already....

I spend my entire day glued to a computer at work. The last thing I want to do is glue myself to another screen and it's rather nice taking in the scenery, AND I also get to play with my dogs. You know, fetch, tug-of-war, or simply enjoying their company. I don't want to be glued to a smartphone to do this.

In fact, no doubt we'll start seeing entire families doing the same too. It's quite depressing.

I went for a 5k walk yesterday. Caught about 10 pokemons and hatched 2 eggs. The amount of time looking at the screen was less than 5 minutes. It was in my pocket, my headphones were on. When I was in range of something I heard a sound from the app, grabbed the phone, caught my pokemon, continued enjoying my walk and watching the scenery. It is not a game where you have to have 100% attention, the app just needs to be on and it can be on in your pocket. Maybe you should give it a whirl so you don't mischaracterize how it is used.

I wasn't going to go for a walk yesterday, I did because of this app.

Depressing? The excitement of my kids running down a bike path along a river last weekend was not depressing. The squeals of joy when new pokemon were captured at that gas station we pulled into was not depressing. An hour long ride home from a fishing trip that took 3 hours because we were stopping in every town and driving around to pokie stops and catching pokemon was not depressing. These towns are amazing by the way. I love wild west history and some of these towns in the midwest look like they are frozen in time. Amazing brick facades and really cool architecture. I would not have had that adventure I had last weekend if it wasn't for this app. If I didn't have that app, it would have been highway 61 south for 60 miles and that's it.

This is ANYTHING but depressing. It's enhancing. It's very easy to get into routine, or just keep a trip simple and basic. This app inspires a sense of get out there and look around. Maybe in the same way that your dogs do for you. See I dont have dogs, but this gets me out there like your dogs get you out there.

Hmmm, sounds like the mother and daughter should have been more concerned with a stranger watching them. Obviously close enough to be able to read a sentence being typed on a mobile device. That's just creepy.

Have you ever just watched the world go by when sat in a restaurant or cafe?

I guess all artists, old people, kids, couples, etc are all creepy and we should keep our eyes fixed to our phones.

I despair....

That genuinely sounds quite nice and I genuinely see that's a positive use to this phenomenon; Especially if you mix it in with sight seeing with the kids.

I just find it odd when I see adults running around staring at their phones in the middle of town!!!

Still waiting in Canada...

Here's so many people levelling up by downloading an APK or changing their location that it's going to be impossible to catch up for those of us that actually waited for the release.

What amazes me is that an adult with a wife and fur kids would find the time to insult other adults on how they spend their time. You enjoy your family and cycling so good for you. But some of us prefer to spend our time doing other things.

I'm a teacher and work hard all year. It is not sad that I (and others) choose to spend my free time during the summer doing something I love. Which is catching pokemon.

So we should all just comment on things we like? What a boring world that would be!

Also...the stench of hypocrisy is strong.

I think there's a stark difference between commenting on a post just to complain about the post and commenting to make a point that nobody is forced to read or comment on a particular post.

And no, you can very well post on here if it's contributing to the actual discussion at hand. But to just comment how "boring" the posts are or how you're sick of hearing about it doesn't add anything. Zilch. Literally adds nothing.

So basically everyone is going on with the same kind of life he was having before and this game amplifies something already existing. Having fun outside with your kids or friends, feeling some good ol' nostalgia or just lead your social life depending on a small screen, feeling good because a lot of others do the same. It's not something sad or something that must be judged. It's life in 2016, different and same as 2006 or 1996 or 1986. It's people doing what people always did

This judgmental attitude baffles me. It's a fun little thing to do while I walk around. My wife and I take our dogs on walks - so now I open the app and glance at it occasionally. I walk all around our downtown campus for work, so sometimes I'll open the app when I'm walking.

If you were so satisfied with your wife, dogs, friends, and bike, you probably wouldn't feel the need to look down upon people who enjoy things different than you do.

im laughing at all of the pretentious pricks in here talking about how great their REAL life is. Then why are you on a forum about apple computer products typing away your little hate? LOL just let people have fun. If you don't like it, fine.

Really... it's just Geocaching with a digital cache. I see nothing wrong with people playing it.

It's such a fun game and surprisingly social. I was playing near Central Park / The Plaza last night and there had to be 150+ people there all having a great time together. Everyone was in such great spirits and yelling out when a cool Pokemon appeared and everyone got excited. Even some NYPD were there playing and the occasional patrol car would announce "Gotta catch em all" on the speaker.

People thinking this game is below them or just for nerds should see what it's like to actually play. It's more than just walking with your face in your phone.
