Great thanks! Can't wait to get the official guide :D

I'm hoping we get an update to the Pokedex for iOS app! iOS7 broke it (the other region pokedex's dont work) and they just have to add new ones for Gen 6.

Current team, all named after South Park characters :);
Pikachu
Braxien
Pancham
Farfetch'd
Marill (holding back evolution till I get some of those sweet 120 damaging moves)

Ideally hoping to hit the Elite 4 with a team of just Gen 6 Pokemon.

Does the official app have a checklist like feature ? Haven't figured out how to track which ones I have

You can mark Pokemon with those symbols just like in the games. I've been using that to identify which ones I've caught.

You mean the stars? - I haven't found a way to sort by stars or not having stars

You can search by stars can't you? It's not working properly for me at the moment so I can't check.

--------

My dislike for the battle graphics went a way a little bit, I think those models are quite high poly. The 3D slowdown only occurs when some models are displayed and the 3D is disabled completely when there are more than 3 on-screen at once. Still think I would prefer graphics closer to the Pokedex app .

I have the battle graphics turned off and 3D off all the time :p

I gave it another shot - the star thing does work! The 3D is disappointing that is one of my favorite parts of 3DS gaming as it brings me more into that world if done properly. The frame rate drop happens with 3D in rain, leafy or butter fly filled scenes :)

I have X and Y stashed away upstairs along with a red/white 2DS, a black/blue one and both the red and blue official slip cases. That's the kids' Main Xmas presents sorted.

Nice - I'm sure they'll love those. Do you do much 3DS gaming?

I don't do any 3DS gaming currently as I never brought one! The 3D effect hurt my eyes at 33, so I was never going to let my kids at 7 and 9 anywhere near it. Thankfully I don't have to worry about that with the 2DS and they've been getting into Pokémon lately watching the cartoon.

I'd like to get the new Zelda though and Luigi's Mansion.

:apple:

And found out something "fun" and interesting about some evolutions.

To evolve an Inkay into Malamar, you have to flip the 3DS upside down.

To evolve a Pancham, you have to have get it to level 30 AND have a Dark type in your party.

I'm now curious if there are more unique evolutions.

Have you seen how to get a Shedinja? Evolve a Nincada and it splits into 2 separate Pokemon! I love the weird evolutions.

Cool - I think you'll want a 2DS of your own after you see your kids playing one :) - I enjoy the 3D enhancements, but I know many whose eyes aren't "even" enough to make that a good experience.

The Evee evolutions are a bit wild. I ended up with a Fairy type because it was happy and evolved during the day. If it was night I would have gotten a different one. I believe there are now 8 Evee evolutions! Trying to get all of those. Would be fun to play with an entirely Evee team!

----------

Does anyone know if Mega Evolution stones can be sent to Pokemon Bank? I'm curious if there is a way to get both an X and Y stone for Charizard.

And a good team too, the Eevee's are pretty decent! I used to always have one evolution in my team in the old days.

I imagine items will be stored in the Bank too if held by a Pokemon.

Fake Edit: Although apparently not;

If your Pokemon is holding an item, the item will be dropped and sent to your bag before it is transferred to the Bank. If your bag is full, the item will disappear.
http://uk.ign.com/wikis/pokemon-x-y-version/How_to_Transfer_Your_Pokemon_to_X_and_Y
But I don't know if that means just transferring from Gen 5 (items aren't allowed across different gens) to the Bank, or if it means Gen 6 too.

Real Edit: apparently not. http://www.pokemonxy.com/en-us/strategy/. But you can still send items across different games with different 3DS's (without using the Bank) so you'll be able to get both Charizard X and Y etc.

Okay so I could do it through local trading - but if I have 2 digital copies on the same system (X/Y) I couldn't send items over - unless I'm missing something.

Also:

I accidentally traded my Mightyena last night using Wonder Trade for the first time and want another so I have him.

Does anyone remember what route I can find him in X? Really sad that I got rid of him (I believe he is X exclusive)

Found this:

“These stones are like other in-game items so they can be traded by attaching to a Pokémon, and trading that Pokémon with another,”

Does it not say on the Pokedex?

Okay, that is awesome!

This is probably one of my favorite Pokemon games ever.

Altho I want to throw my XL because I cannot for the life of me catch an Absol.

Haha - I quickly added Farfetch'd to my team - have him learn the False Swipe move - that will knock Pokemon down to 1 HP and never faint him - you can then capture easily or use another pokemon to stun or have them fall asleep - killer Pokemon to have - loving X - 250 in Pokedex already

Yeah, I did the same thing with my Farfetch'd, it's just that I'll chuck Great Balls at him and he'll pop out just as it starts to settle after the second shake.

I'm finding on a few sites that I need to use Level or Love Balls.

Some are just very stubborn - I've gone through 5 great balls before with some of the more stubborn ones - sometimes I'll false swipe them even at 1HP to really demoralize the Pokemon :)

I couldn't resist! All 5 Gameboy Advance Pokemon games for $34! I've never played any of those and am really excited to play FireRed when I'm done with X. Don't want to go off-topic too much, but what is everyone's favorite GBA Pokemon game?

Eep! Be careful with eBay and GBA games, you get a lot of fakes. They may play fine on their own but they might not have trade or transfer capabilities. I don't know how advanced fake carts got, but when I picked up Emerald years ago it would lose my save and I couldn't trade to Ruby or Sapphire.

That said if they're genuine you're in for an ace time. Gen 3 is the one before they started to add realism. I'm replaying a (genuine) Emerald side by side with Y :).

Thanks for the warning - what is the fastest way to detect if they are fake? eBay reviews are great and that is why I didn't think of it. Would trading work between 2 fake games if they are fake? Can Black 2 trade with any of the GBA games?

Very excited for FireRed - I've heard that the original is a blast and the updated graphics make it that much better.

WOW you were right! Looked at his reviews and many negatives on them getting fakes - have already opened up PayPal dispute and eBay fake claim - found a $20 FireRed that looked legit by label shine and no negative reviews - found a nice website pointing out what to look for! Way too many fakes out there :(
