Yes, but you can thank the "wisdom" of the people who originally thought it a good idea to grant the cable companies monopoly status for most of these problems.

Yep I agree and I just don't know which poison to vote for. But this whole political process and processes within the system blows my mind.
1. Since when does running a country require LESS qualifications than running a McDonalds or Walmart?
2. Why is it allowed that blatantly breaking a federal law and still be able to run for President?
3. Why is someone allowed to step on a stage that protects people that are perfectly eligible/able to work, only condones infinite enrollment activity that sucks tax payers wealth?
4. Why limit the Presidency but not congress? Any job in politics that requires the peoples vote should be limited.
5. Why is it even fathomable to attach completely unrelated/uncorrelated bills or excerpts of failed bills to other bills going up for vote?
Smh this entire political process blows my mind. And whats even more unbelievable is that people are voting for someone that can't present a thought/idea/plan pass a grade school level, or give any rhetoric pass "What" we're going to do without any "How" of any sort...for anything.
You can pretty much count on either:
- Children
- Terrorism
- Kidnapping
- Slavery

I wouldn't say their are clueless. They have goals that don't align with my goals, with Apple's goals, and incidentally not with the goals of the NSA. FBI's goal is to catch and convict the bad guys. NSA's goal is to stop the bad guys (which is not necessarily the same as catching and convicting), and to protect the good guys.
Some parts I could agree, except your examples are a few out of hundreds that don't fit your description.
Also, who has been mocking the USSR? It has been irrelevant now for a while.

When politicians come up for election, for the most part, the audience is fed a nonstop rhetoric diatribe of headline style information to paint a false persona of the candidate. People just don't take the effort nor time to see what a candidate really is. The non-hardcore voters typically vote based on the flavor of the day; right or wrong. Each major election I try to spend a decent amount of time looking at the candidates, the bills, the bonds the ... In actuality you can't. There is just too much. To do a decent effort and sort through it all you have to make it a second full time job. To a lot of folks, Feinstein looks like a great Senator irrespective of her "backers" and "owners".
I have learned and never forgotten, and pass this on to all my peers / friends, never forget a politician is an actor and that they are playing a public role. What goes on behind the scene or between takes is a whole different world. One we would in all likelihood be uncomfortable with.

Most of in the peanut gallery stopped caring. It's no different to when people threw tantrums over when the CPU serial number was introduced on the chip, people balked, number removed, number reintroduced years later, people didn't care.
Besides, everyone knows the double standard Cook has for China, giving out code and helping them at every turn while putting on big song and dance "battles" here in the US. Tech media reported it, even mainstream media pointed out disparity in the past in the number of times Apple previously helped US government, even for a child molestation case. I doubt Apple changed its tune because Obama was elected and re-elected, so why? Who cares. People know why they stopped caring, which is kinda funny in a way...

Then why did right-wingers throw tantrums every time the government, under Obama or other left-wingers, stepped in to prevent mergers and other anti-competitive acts? What if both parties appreciate aspects of capitalism and socialism (which is not communism) but just disagree on the means to keep a balance while forgetting about other issues that caused an imbalance... We know the US Government doesn't want "We the People" to have encryption that puts our communications outside their ability to monitor.
So as the political will to ban encryption wanes in the face of public criticism, is it just a coincidence that yesterday, a patent troll company sues to force the wholesale shutdown of Apple's iMessage and FaceTime services, using patents purchased from one of the country's largest defense contractors?
The possibility deserves serious thought. If the government can't get a legal back door by law, why not just shut it down by alternate means?

Just bad economics from where I stand. I will credit him with not being a sellout (or a narcissistic psycho), but an unapologetic socialist is hardly an improvement.
I guess my stance is that there are no good options. All I see are the lesser of two evils and someone with the wrong solution.

Before anyone says it, no, I am not comparing Bernie to Hitler, I am just pointing out that the poster avanpelt is correct by saying new and different is no always a good thing.
You didn't have to make Hitler comparisons to show how lacking any sense your argument is.
A better perspective on how the US should proceed is desperately needed, and out of all the remaining candidates, Bernie Sanders is the best option.

While I did NOT read the entirety of the linked info; I did search it for "encryption", "privacy", & "security" and only got one hit, with regards to Social Security, so.......
I guess it's fine for you to use MacRumors as your personal soapbox, but your comment was 100% devoid of any substantive material with regards to this topic (encryption, privacy, & security)

Sorry dude, but you need to get a much better understanding of both the US political system, the US Constitution, and US culture before making pithy comments like this. The USA is a land of opportunity; that's why an ex wrestler, an Austrian bodybuilder, a peanut farmer (who by the way is well known for sucking as a president), and a movie cowboy can all make it as leaders here. Unlike the Old World (i.e., western Europe where you reside) where the sheeple do what they're told (I lived in Germany for 7 years, so I can have an opinion), America has always held the idea of bucking the trend, of stepping out of line, in high regard. And by the way, I don't see how you can come up with the conclusion that Trump has "deep seated establishment blood lines". He's been voted in by Republicans precisely because he's NOT establishment. If the general Republican voting bloc desired an establishment candidate, they had plenty to choose from 6 months ago.
lol, true. To be fair, my first comment was vague and off-topic. I would be surprised if he fully understood encryption, but I will concede that he could very well be the BEST choice want to comes to privacy and security.
I'll still vote libertarian (for all the difference it makes)
