Buy Applecare with your new iPhone 7?
I bought 2 phones. each with applecare. Did you?
I didn't buy an iPhone 7! But I would always, always get AppleCare on any Apple device. Plus with screen damage being reduced to a negligible cost with AC+, it's a no brainer not to go for it.
I bought 3 phones and for each one I got applecare.
No need. It's waterproof.
Do I look like a mug.
Listen to Amy Farrah Fowler "I'm a little surprised you didn't get AppleCare. Anyway, enjoy your life."
I always buy Apple Care with my Apple products.
Saw that I have 60 days to add it on so didn't include it at checkout to give me a bit more time to ponder over it. I've got a week to decide whether it's worth it or not.
I think I'll call up to add it on in a few days time.
This is the most expensive phone I've ever bought. I should probably insure it.
Went plus for the first time this year after years of 4 and 4.7 inch iPhones. Figured it would be a safe option to get AppleCare+ this year.
Seems like a waste to me. You can get the screen replaced for $179. Apple care is $129 + $99 for each incident. So if you were to break 2 screens in 2 years you would pay $358 out of pocket or $327 with applecare. But chances are you won't need to replace the screen at all, or maybe just once. Certainly there are other things that can go wrong, but should be covered in the warranty and I never keep phones past one year.
I have insurance through AT&T on my device, but since I go through Apple's payment plan for the phone, Apple care is a negligible monthly fee, so I'll probably keep it.
Absolutely; didn't get it for my 6 two years ago and kinda regretted it. Not that it would've needed any service, but to know that I could call the support anytime is nice.
I haven't but the $29 screen replacement is tempting. Luckily I have 30 days to add it so I'm still considering it.
Yup. Phone and watch both have Apple Care+
I've always wanted to add it but still go through AT&T for insurance. It's a rough deductible for repairs but it covers loss/theft so that's why I keep it.
Now that Apple offers the screen replacement for $30 under AC+, it actually makes AC+ sort of worthwhile in most scenarios.
Here is a scenario chart for some cost/benefit analysis for everyone (rounded up to make it easier). This is for the iPhone7 or 6s, non-plus models. Sources: http://www.apple.com/shop/product/S...-7-iphone-7-plus-iphone-6s-and-iphone-6s-plus and https://support.apple.com/iphone/repair/screen-damage
No issues during the first two years:
No AC: $0
Winner: No AC by $130
Screen breaks once:
AC: $160 ($130 + $30)
No AC: $130
Winner: No AC by $30
Screen breaks twice:
AC: $190 ($130 + 2 x $30)
No AC: $260 (2 x $130)
Winner: AC by $70
Whole phone breaks once:
AC: $230 ($130 + $100)
No AC: $300
Winner: AC by $70
Screen breaks once, and whole phone breaks once:
AC: $260 ($130 + $30 + $100)
No AC: $430 ($130 + $300)
Winner: AC by $130
Whole phone breaks twice:
AC: $330 ($130 + 2 x $100)
No AC: $600 (2 x $300)
Winner: AC by $270
Yes. Going to call Apple and get the 6S applecare proration refunded and then maybe use that towards the AC for the 7.
Just ordered the 256GB 7+ and the first time ever, bought the Applecare package. Mother nature taught me a lesson earlier this summer. My daughter's 6+ took an accidental and inadvertent ten second (if that) swim in our pool and even though we immediately put the phone into rice, it was totally bricked.
For the first time ever I brought Apple Care because to fix a screen is now $29. It will pay itself I'm sure.
I'll be getting Apple upgrade program that new 29$ for screen replacement is key
Doing the Apple Upgrade program with it. Now I'll get a less obtrusive case (almost always get Otterbox) and live a little more.
I've had them on every iPhone before this one, but this will be the first year I won't get AppleCare. I love my Urban Armor cases and they have completely protected the phone for the past three years, in combination with a curved tempered glass shield.
Only had Applecare before this because I was scared of water damage, but since I take my watch in the ocean and pool and shower with zero issues, I'm not worried about the 7 since it has the same rating (and no, I don't plan on taking my phone in those places).
I did AppleCare on my wife's phone, not on mine. I live 10 minutes from an Apple Store, so I can enable AppleCare on mine easily.
This is the first time I've ever gotten it. The $29 screen replacement is nice and I'll enjoy having peace of mind.
Did you know that the AT&T deductable reduces over time if you don't file a claim? From their site:
"A non-refundable deductible will be charged for each approved claim. Continuously enrolled customers who go claim free for 6-12 consecutive months save 25% off the standard deductible; and at 12 consecutive months or more save 50% off the standard deductible."
