Ok good (well not really), but at least it's an issue for some of us.

At first I thought it was Mail -- checking messages and then pop, but there's no consitency. I also quit Mail and it still happened. The only other applications I have open are Adium and Safari.

It mostly happens to me several minutes after I close iTunes, and also after other system sounds.

No, no problems on the intel side for MBP (for mine at least) All though it had me freaking out for how long it took to install before the reboot. And then I almost sh%" myself when it restarted twice on the reboot. I thought that was weird.

Poll needs: Not updating yet due to reported issues

This should be added to the poll because I am certainly waiting. Apples Q.E. process has been quite lackluster on recent updates. There are always issues with updates but the type of issues being reported on this board and others should have been caught during Q.E. testing. Speaker pops? Airport problems, AGAIN? I'll wait for the bugs to be addressed. I like Apple and macs and am probably a very outspoken not paid salesperson for Apple products, but the recent issues with updates indicates something is wrong with their quality process. Has the engineering team or quality team changed recently at Apple?

Probably not a bad idea. The speaker pop is very sporadic but annoying. Enough to steer clear of the update, but it seems to be a rare issue at the moment.

PPC and Intel are fine. I keep our machines well 'housekept', with only necessary 3rd party apps. Maybe you guys with problems have too much crap on your machines?

since update no usb hard drive access, so i went back to 10.4.9 now to discover the update has also happily deleted what was on the usb hard drive.

Apps Quiting

well it seems I'm worst hit. It only happens to Activity Monitor and system prefs so far, but not a good start. This is on a Mac Pro

No problems so far (knocks on wood). I normally just update without even thinking twice but this update I was quite worried since I learned that messing with your mac while updating could zero out some potentially critical system files and make it unbootable and what not. Information is a dangerous thing to have  Ignorance is truly bliss haha

I got a problem with sound on my rev. b c2d mbp. I started a topic in the laptop section of the forums

Hey,

All of the F Keys on the top of my keyboard have stopped working and now my MBP takes *FOREVER* (read 15-20 mins) to start up all the while it is thrashing the disk.

Not impressed at all with this update :(

Chris

No problems with a PPC iMac update or an Intel MacBook update. I have Parallels 2.5, and the update broke USB, but I don't need it, so that issue isn't hurting me. :)

First reboot after update for my machine took F O R E V E R. I walked away, don't know how long it actually took. This is the Macbook in my .sig.

MacBook Core2Duo (1 week old as of tomorrow), I got Popping speakers and
Growl doesn't seem to work very well with the 10.4.10 update.

Couldn't tell you about my CoreDuo MacBook Pro. It's in being looked at by Apple (for the fourth time).

Grr I now need to authenticate every time i try to add or edit something on my other partition  gawd apple. don't fix it if it aint broke.

I've not noticed any of the problems hitherto mentioned although first restart seemed to take an age so I held down the power key and restarted and it was fine. This may have been due to something in BootCamp though rather than the update because I had my finger on the ALT key.
