New plan is good.

115 base and 20x3 for three lines

175 before fees and taxes.

Fan applies to base 115, better than previous new unlimited from the week before that was 60/base and 60x2 for two additional lines. Fan was off that base 60

So I get more discount no downgrades and 10gb unthrottled wifi hotspot for the first time ever on att and 22gb data total before any throttle on device.

Happy to stay with that, for now. Seems somewhat competitive even if still more expensive than t-mo. May not be worth the hassle to switch

Scummy att pulled a half assed unlimited and now added hotspot and made it a bit sweeter for discounted accounts. Fine.

In any case thank you so much t mo and Legere. Should I ever be pushed over the edge, I wanna hurl my
Cellular dollars your way! Just not now

Have you got a billing statement yet? There's a lot of commotion about FAN not applying to the new plan unless you're military.

Right, new Unlimited AT&T plans, FAN no longer applicable. Only military/gov discounts, same as Verizon.

As far as I was told by an att rep it'll transfer.

May be misinformation but I don't think so he didn't care if I stayed on old unlimited and even encouraged me to switch to unlimited plus new plan from online so I have time to evaluate etc

He seemed to be knowledgeable about everything in the att space

--

tho the FAN breakdown fine print does say it excludes unlimited voice plans, which unlimited plus is-- unlimited.

dang maybe you guys are right.

I'm going to try to speak to a CS rep and get it locked in, that is kinda messed up

The AT&T reps don't know anything and act like they do.

I just had a rep try to convince a friend of mine that the new $60 Unlimited Choice plan does not have a 3mbps limit even though he kept pointing the rep directly to their own page that says so LOL,

" Discount applies only to the monthly service charge of qualified wireless plans, but does not apply to Unlimited Choice and Unlimited Plus data plans"

such bull

raising hell with customer support right now, they must have just updated that fine print

maybe they will force us to switch,

classic ATT I dont think asking for a discount from the base plan fee of $115 is asking for the sun and moon, especially after being 'loyal' customers for 12 years now

I'm just glad the service offerings have finally evolved to where unlimited data is available again as good or arguably better than the old grandfathered plan. Finally I can move to a modern plan instead of minutes...and rollover minutes...and nights and weekend minutes...and mobile to mobile minutes (which is a feature of my texting plan, because that makes sense)...

it is still better than old plan with fan to be certain but the bar wasn't high there, unlimited grandfathered was silly expensive with a pool of legacy minutes and separate 30/unlimited text, but considering even big red is dropping their pants, its time the Death Star does too

I dont want to go back to the first new unlimited too, if that works with a FAN account, because it omits hotspot and I just got my family excited about that, without the need for JB/or not being able to at all (since JB troubleshooting across the country, is hell)

"may not be available with unlimited plans;"

Im assuming that means older but first new unlimited plan released a week ago, too,

friggin ATT!!

I've done without the hotspot for so long and so many times that would have come in handy! I'm switching to Verizon over the weekend - I'll be the 4th line on my brother's plan so my bill is about to be cut in half...definitely looking forward to that!

45 minutes on chat with att, and they keep saying I can get FAN discount with mobile share bucket of data, I keep saying I dont want that even if we average 20gb a month across the 3, I dont want to think about monitoring data use, they keep saying we cant apply discount, I keep saying escalate it finally I think its getting escalated,

she also said I'm saving $175+taxes vs $230 after taxes with fan for grandfathered, I said great $30 savings still isn't competitive with all thats out there and if we have to switch we will. geez. like oh I'm already saving? cool never mind on the discount

she's trying to pull a fast one and I aint interested,

a 12 year old customer, wanting $20 or so off their bill, to still not be competitive even with Big Red that offers 4 lines/$180, she was trying to debunk t-mobile 3 lines for $100, I said go ahead and go on their website, t-mobile.com , we'd be paying literally double after taxes+fees, vs. t-mo for 3 lines

waiting to speak with a 'supervisor', I say I know someone can do something, I know how these things work :D

The leap in price is outside my comfort zone, and the value is just not there compared to what I have. I'm sticking with My current plan.

escalating beyond sueprvisor

callback In 24-72, this is absurd

I'm laying out I want to stay a customer. if you give me no choice, you give me no choice

the supervisor offered mobile share too! totally insane!

I said I dont care about any mobile share plans, even with our average consumption, I want unlimited and I want discount. period

I also said I understand you understand where I'm coming from even though YOU are in a tough spot and YOU have nothing to offer but mobile share discounted

almost want to go t-mobile on principal

and this is almost fun

Good luck, but I can imagine 99.99999% chance they won't budge whatsoever.

You're wasting you time "thadoggfather".
AT&T doesn't like to play ball, they dont seem to care seeing their customers go elsewhere.

edit- I'm also just doing this, to see how idiotic things get from 'customer relations'

maybe they will offer yet again, the exclusive mobile share plan, exclusive.

and
I generally agree, but I think if the #'s show it, they may have a new unlimited plan, revision 3 in the works :D for the first time ever, tether is part of an unlimited plan

getting ~$20ish off, is still hardly competitive with 4x lines verizon $180/mo,

is any one staying on att or is every single person jumping ship? lol

so absurd the scenario summed up:
we've overpaid the overpaid, want a lump credit to lessen the blow of Autopay slip through the radar since they cant under any circumstances discount unlimited plus. supervisor used analogy of a bandaid for a wound, as its not recurring, I said a bandaid is better than no bandaid which is this 25gb of data pool which I didn't ever ask for, and have been offered at least 4 x

we've paid for 11 years, and are finally re-evaluating

we are begging to continue giving you money, and you offer NOTHING

what business sense does that make? especially as this goes further up the chain of command

I can actually see fat suits for the carriers using legeres cut out head as a punching bag, for having to pretend to be competitive at all. they must be so angry to afford one less lambho

After 9 years of the UDP. Finally switched over to the Unlimited Plus. Finally get my tethering!

so staying put?

ill stay put for a while, but man if a single line for t-mo ever gets better than $70 without being on a multi/family plan, like $40ish, I'd hop just on principle

Yeah. TMO isn't the best in my area. Otherwise I would jump on that (3 for 100). But I'm getting tethering and unlimited minutes for a few dollars cheaper a month than the 3 UDP plans we had. Even without the FAN it's cheaper. So I can't complain.

thats the thing is coverage keeping us on ATT.

the first time T-Mo doesn't work somewhere its worked fine with ATT, will never be forogtten and will be all my fault probably haha since thats how tech goes,

Alternatively, the first area that gets T-Mo that didn't get ATT will probably be forgotten in general by my family, but in my case T-Mo way better in my apartment.

I personally Dont pay the bill on it, so I get the best deal with ATT I just hate the concept of giving money to scum, even though they are all kinda scum except T-Mo for rattling things up even tho they're a company too (to be a $20+taxes nuisance for me tacked on with the new breakdown of $115 for unlimited plus base and $20/line including first line, vs $60 month x 3 on new unlimited #1, or $40/UDP with $10/line was too much on grandfathered plan,

so I'm down to $20 nuisance to the bill, vs $50-$60

woo

but I will gladly hop to T-Mo if my parents want to shoo me off, or maybe pay my burden of the bill as I've offered before :D ATT is still embarrassing at this point, a dinosaur from a business sense in the new world, even with hotspot in an unprecedented manner which I'm happy about, uninstalled TetherMe and dont have to worry about getting caught anymore even though I dont use it often anyways peace of mind more than anything,

VERIZON HAS OUTDONE ATT ON DEALS, what has this world come to?

my other sibling is shoo'd off, but switched his line a few times so he had to since it gets messy

otherwise all my bills are mine

This is technically my mother's plan but she put me in charge for it. I only have to pay for my line access fee. Which went from $40 to $20. So I'm more than happy with this deal. If I had to have a single line, I dont know what I would do cause of the poor service in my area.

exactly, but UDP was $40 and $10 for the 'privilege' of a line to put that UDP on :D

so $50 to $20 in your case, unless you had some other kinda unlimited plan voodoo or some'n which is possible since ATT is confusing, with how many different plans they have over time,

I'm over this person-

Sticking with old unlimited for now. Still would be about $10 more with my FAN discount. Hot Spot would not be really worth the extra right now. If they gave me the $5 auto pay discounts on all plans would even be better.

Not afraid of change, but I'm still on UDP. I did the math (including the $5 rate hike this month) and with my FAN it is still cheaper.

It's getting close though. If I actually had a need for tethering, I'd probably switch.

They'll probably find a way to shoo you off in an effort to scrape every last dollar from you and suck you into the Death Star vortex :D
