I'm also starting to question whether the new unlimited plan really is much of a "deal" at all compared to our UDP grandmothered plans? An extra $75 for tethering and the ability to call Mexico/Canada, not sure if it's worth it.

How are u only paying 10/line for
UDP?

And nothing for data but 60 for voice? I'm confused by your plan haha but it looks like a sweet deal

That price is wrong on the left. Notice the $0 for data. Add $40 per line for UDP.

My 3 lines was $220. Now it's $175.

$50 for minutes, $30 for text, $120 for data $20 for two lines.

Even without my FAN. I'm saving $10 a month.

So what are ya guys gonna do?

They'll probably find a way to shoo you off in an effort to scrape every last dollar from you and suck you into the Death Star vortex :D

I switched two lines over to T-Mobile, it's just the best deal right now.

Basically, I don't see why anyone would select ATT. You have Verizon which is cheaper and has the best coverage followed by T-Mobile which has the lowest price, most plan features but with somewhat questionable coverage.

However, I'm in NYC, the T-Mobile coverage here is so far (been 1.5 weeks) same as AT&T but with much faster speeds. No regrets thus far.

Plus, when the iPhone 8 comes out, I'm sure there will be many 'switch' deals again, if you are not happy with X carrier, just switch in a few months. Everyone is offering unlimited data.

Keeping the grandfather UDP doesn't really make sense now, why have something limited?

BTW - I was an AT&T customer since 2002 and on UDP since 2007. It was a good run!

Always expecting.
They are kinda on hook since they originally offered the plan as indefinitely but they have the right to raise price. The last Verizon unlimited plan was grandfathered as long as you never changed anything including phones. Could not upgrade phone and keep the plan. Classic Verizon move.

Verizon upped the price to $50. Then that's why AT&T went to $35 and now $40.

I guess I need to see the numbers. Right now we have two grandfathered unlimited plans.. One has a text messaging plan added on it, the other no.. So the bill is approx $92 for line 1 and the other one is $108. $200 for two. But that includes taxes and fees $12 and about $15 for the each line. But then again, I don't have tethering.

On the new ones, are there more restrictions like how you pay or sign up for paperless etc etc? Do you guys feel Verizon is still the way to go?

I will 100% re-evaluate at next phone launch. No way accepting carrier specific or GSM only phone

Thanks. I'll go back and recalculate.

I'm switching to ATT Unlimited Plus. I have an old plan with 450 minutes, 5000 night and weekend, and 200 text messages for $85/mo. That goes up this month. I'd jump in on a joint plan with a buddy on TMobile but i owe on my phone for 20 more payments. Unlimited texting, unlimited data and tethering is just too good a deal to pass up for the same price.

How much is a solo line unlimited plus plan?

$90, the same price the grandfathered plan will be after this month. If you're on a single phone plan like I am there is literally zero upside to keeping the grandfathered plan anymore. It doesn't reset my contract because I don't have one and I get a lot more for the same price.

So after taxes probably like 100 all in? Not too bad if t mobile coverage is a deal breaker? Etc.

Isn't Verizon's single unlimited 85 and taxes ?

Hello, what is FAN short for? Thanks!

The grandfathered UDP is eligible for FAN discount, while the new one is not. That can make a significant price difference depending on the amount of the FAN discount.

Was going to upgrade to the new unlimited plus plan from the grandfathered udp but due to the lack of being able to apply a FAN discount, it would actually make my bill more expensive.

I double checked TMobiles coverage in the bay area which looks great but have heard different experiences from current and ex tmobile users. That being said I couldn't pass on the 3 lines of unlimited everything including tethering for $100 a month including tax. Even with my previous FAN discount the new att unlimited plans would still be more expensive than 3 lines for $100.

Never thought I'd leave att for TMobile but am now currently in the process of unlocking my phones and moving to TMobile.

Even on att SF was OK. More often than not didnt consistently have 4-5 dots but I'll provide an update once I get some phones running on tmobile.

One thing that the TMOBILE CS rep told me that their coverage map data is supplied by actual TMOBILE customers not a third party or by tmobile teams for whatever that's worth. If it's showing good coverage on tmobiles coverage map it's confirmed by an actual customer.

To everyone concerned about their FAN discounts not applying to the new plan: STOP!
