I added a poll; the poll is only open for three days, and I may also close this thread at the end of the three days, merely because this has been done often, including fairly recently.

In the meantime, please enjoy. :)

Thanks... this has been done quite a bit. This was probably also posted in the wrong forum... should have gone in Community Discussion.

My parents had an Apple 2C when I was a kid, then about 6-7 months ago I got a whitebook and my wife liked it so much I gave it to her and I mave my current Macbook in my siggy.

those in my sig, plus a B&W G3, Sawtooth, an eMac, 500 and 700 mhz ibook, and a 3400c . So about 10 or so that I've actually bought myself (didn't buy the Pro though, grant money FTW).

If you throw in Macs I've used before that as hand-me downs from my father, add to that list a 1984, Plus, SE, '89 Mac II, Classic, '91 Quadra 700, color classic, 94 Power Mac, and a 96 Power Mac.

Also had an Apple IIe, IIgs, and a Newton.

I have two now, although my daughter would argue that one is hers. Converted in 2/2008 and never looked back. Although, I have purchased 3 Windows machines since then for my family members. I see no reason to spend so much money to browse the web and check email.;)

One area that I think Apple is missing the boat, is for business (office) users.

Most business users that I know need e-mail, web browsing, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. They don't need iLife type apps. Nor do they need DVD burners.

I wish that Apple would come out with an Intel iMac (C2D, 17 or 20 inch, 2 GB RAM, 80GB HD (small cheap one), and a Combo Drive focused for the typical office. Even eliminate WiFi since most offices use wired LANs. Sell it for $600. Make a deal with Microsoft to have Office 2008 pre-installed at say $650 per unit.

Too bad we'll never see this.

I've had a total of 7 Macs since 1998. No offense to you recent "switchers" but only the TRUE Mac users have been around since the G3/G4/G5 days. The rest of you guys are Windows dependent and not a true Mac user. :p

a really old one (SEII maybe)
blue and white g3
dual 450 g4
imac g4 15"
867 powerbook 12"
mac pro quad core

Your opinion could've been valid without the "Windows dependent" categorization. There are many Windows users dependent on me, but I am not dependent on Windows.

LC II
Performa 575
Motorola Starmax
iMac G3 350
eMac 1 ghz
Sawtooth 500 mhz, with OWC 1.2 G4 upgrade

I own more than 50 Macs and Apples, including an Apple IIgs, a Mac 512, and Apple Lisa, a Color Classic, my very own old SE/30, some Quadras, an Apple Network Server 500, and eMate, a couple Newtons, a Cube, an original Bondi iMac, and a host of others. Still looking for a 20th Anniversary Mac and an Apple TV.
