my 2.8 encodes video twice as fast as my mbp. i love my mac pro. anyone waiting for the 8800gt i feel sorry for. the ATI card works really good, surprisingly. so im going to wait for the 8800gt to come out and see what people say, and figure out a way to make a off the self 8800 to work. Shouldn't be that hard to figure out. the 2.8 stock works really good compared to my mbp with 4 gigs of ram.

Seriously, I don't know where to start with this monster. It's my first "Pro" purchase (the best I've had previously was a CD iMac) and I'm trying to wrap my head around Leopard at the same time as appreciating how awesomely everything goes.

I moved from a MACBOOK. :D

absoulty true. so far i have used motion and fcp and i have had no problems. Just need to wait until i get xp intalled and use bf2 and crysis. then i would really know. I want a 8800 but right now i am impressed with what i see with the ati.
