If it indeed comes in white I might get one, even though I am still leaning towards getting a 3Gs... This rendering makes it look like an iPod Shuffle 1st Gen. It also makes me feel peckish ...

I think it looks great. Plus in white it should be less susceptible to fingerprints.

WHY I'll definitely upgrade:

1. It's a MUSCULAR looking phone.

2. It got glass front and back, plus metal all around. You can't scratch it up!

3. I still got the 3G and it does not support multi-tasking.

You don't need an upgrade for multitasking. just jailbrake what you have.
I've been multitasking for ages.

I'll be there with bells on! :)

Much prefer the slightly squarer look of the new phone to be honest.

I've loved my 3G and my wife plans on taking it off of my hands sometime in June. I'm definitely getting the new iPhone, especially as I believe what we saw on Gizmodo is pretty close to final product.

The high-def screen will certainly make my random gaming moments more enjoyable as well as watching vids while SWMBO sleeps.

I just bought a 3GS around a week ago, so no won't be upgrading. I knew the next iPhone was due out soon but I lost my phone and needed immediate replacement. I am spending time between Europe and Asia so even if they announce it at WWDC it could be months before launch over here and in Europe locked which does me no good.

Furthermore I just don't see any big deal based on the leaks. I don't need or even want a front facing camera.

Better battery life would be nice but I don't get what the big deal is if you have access to electrical plugs. Where I was living before I cared as we had no electrical mains. It sometimes makes me laugh when people say they have to charge it after coming home from work. Why don't they just plug it in at work?

End of rant.

My 3GS is excellent for my day to day usage and it will support features of 4.0 so that just leaves the hardware. Hardware needs to be excellent for me to upgrade. I have already made up my mind to upgrade but I need some support to help my decision.

Ok folks.... let's not jump the gun on the next new product. We don't know what this will bring.
Here are the reasons for me to keep my 3GS... My opinion, not anyone elses

Pros

1. Jailbroken (I LOVE IT !!!!) Freedom!!!
2. unlocked
3. Already multitasking
4. Beautiful design
5. Stable phone
6. Extremely satisfied with this model

Cons (Based on leaks)

1. HD will be a battery draining pain (I only need HD on my TV)
2. Front facing camera (I'm not one bit interested)
3. 5 Mega Pixel cam (Wow, that won't make a big difference from 3.0)
4. Removal baterry (It will need to be)
If you plan on HD, coupled with multitasking in excess of 2 programs, then you may need to replace your battery before it's anniversary.
5. The leak pictures displayed a very ugly design.

Having in excess of 2 programs opened on a mobile device is crazy. So the whole multitasking thing is not appealing at all.

Plus I already have that capability at my disposal if I need it.

You know you have 30 days (if you're on AT&T) to return the phone and get a different one, right? So you could probably return your 3GS for the 4G when it comes out.

I said that I would upgrade, probably not right away though since I just got me 3gs earlier this year. Maybe I will wait till early next year or until I cannot wait no longer :D

If I were to stick with what I have, I would be stuck with a crappy AT&T pre-paid phone. (I miss my iPhone. :()

So yeah, I'm gonna upgrade to the new iPhone 4.

And you know that for a fact?

What do you mean. The phone will obviously sport something in the A4 family for a chip, that's already plenty faster/stronger. The camera is factually better as you can tell by the bigger lens or whatever in the leaked pictures. And the screen will obviously be better, Gruber already hinted at a 960x640 resolution which beats everything else out, and makes a ton of sense. So I can pretty much say that everything I said is 99% factual. The screen being better is factual, but to what degree is the unknown that counts for 1% in my 99%

I have an 8GB first-gen iPhone. :p

- 16GB minimum (I'm assuming)
- Higher-res screen
- 1GHz processor
- 3G network
- GPS
- Video camera

... Man I can't wait for this phone to come out. :D

Just because it's higher resolution doesn't mean the screen is bigger. In fact, the prototypes you sighted were reported to have smaller screens.

and a slightly smaller but apparently higher resolution screen.

Can you please quote where I said the screen was gonna be bigger? I just said it will be a lot better and have a really high resolution.

What good is better resolution on a smaller screen. If it's on a smaller screen, then it will be like back to square one. The difference will not be noticible. So while the Droids are going to bigger screens, apple is going to come out with a smaller screen. I'll wait for iPhone 5. I want a significant larger screen.
