I was talking to another Washintonian KU student this past term, and he mentioned Fred Meyer. As a Michiganian (not michigander, that's simply ridiculous) I thought he was referring to (Fred) Meijer. I found it a funny coincidence.

Yea, I have to explain it all the time. Meijer and Meyer may be related, but it was long before they moved to the US. Funny thing though, A Fred Meyer store is similar to a Meijer in that anything you need you can get it there. Also, thanks to Kroger buying Fred Meyer in the mid-90's you now have Fred Meyer Jewelers around the US.

Unlike everybody here (it seems), I don't buy clothes. I haven't in the last several years. But, my wife occasionally buys me something. I tend to keep clothes until well beyond the point at which any rational human would keep them.

Anyhow, my clothes are simple. I have some dress pants that I got from Hechts or something during some sale or another. I have some dress shirts that I've had for the last 8 years or so (augmented by gifts from various people). I have some custom made dress pants and a suit (India is so cheap...). T-shirts that I've collected for about 15 years. Jeans come from PacSun outlet stores. Shirts are all the same thermally-wafer style from Gap (or Old Navy - I'm not sure) in about 4 colors (but I have 3 in black).

Generally, I wear the jeans and a black shirt.

That was weird - I feel naked now.

I don't buy clothes with a specific store in mind, but I find that I simply don't like what's in most stores, except for Le Chateau, and 1 or 2 other places.

Oh, and I've pretty much given up on tryin to get jeans anywhere at all. I like something that's a little loose around the waist, so my pants are on my hips, and I like it to show off my totally hot ass, but leave room in front for the package. And, as if that doesn't eliminate almost everything already, I like the legs to be a little flaired, ala '70s.

I'm starting to really like the Abercrombie & Fitch button-downs from the clearance rack :D. At $20 for a very well made shirt, I can't say no. I do, however, have to roll up the sleeves and unbutton the top two buttons, NorCal-style. The shorts are pretty nice too.

The rest of my stuff is an assortment from Old Navy, Target, and a few various other places.

I live in Shanghai and they don't have Gap, AE, A&F, Hollister, etc., just retail stores.

There are literally millions of small unisex fashion boutiques though—shopping in Shanghai is great.

Of the ones anyone else would know, I wear mostly:

Polo, Lacoste, Adidas (i love their track jackets), Le Coq Sportif, Burberry, DKNY, french connection (stupid censor wouldn't let me type eff cee you kay), Dolce & Gabbana, Donna Karan New York

but most of my clothes are no-name designer clothes.

H&M. I used to stock up when I go to Europe, but last December I saw one in Fifth Ave in NY and another one in a mall in PA, so I guess I'll go broke in style here in the US :D.

I also like clothes from Old Navy, Banana Republic and A&F.
I heart H&M. Unfortunately, there isn't one terribly near me, so I stock up when in the area of one (like Chicago). Otherwise, I mostly go to thrift stores or the occasional dept store like Nordstroms.

Sometimes I shop at Urban outfitters, but their build quality is crap.

When I lived on the west coast, I used to like asian flea/street markets, as I am a smaller build, so I could find a lot of cool stuff that fit. Those in Vancouver BC were excellent.
