I pre-ordered the 38 and 42 SS Milanese Loop and I don't know which one to keep? I'm very torn between the two. I love big watches but the 42 band only has about an inch left from the clasp (when secured) and the other end of the watch. If I lose any weight (getting married next April), I'm worried that it might not fit. What to do?

There is a great thread on sizing here, however it's all still a personal choice. Ordering online is hard. Very hard if you haven't seen it. https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1865238/

If you can get to an Apple Store I'd recommend that. The actual screen sizes aren't that different.

For the band you can get different sizes for most of them. Also u can have a skinny band and a not so skinny band. I'd focus on the watch face size.

Congratulations!! Next April will come faster than you expect. :)

Thank you. I am hoping to hear from other women and what choices they've made. Seems that most threads are for and by men :(

i went for the 38, even although before try on i wanted the 42. I have a 155mm wrist, although i personally dont think wrist size matters, more height. Sorry its sport though. I tried on the milanese loop however, it wasnt my style so i didnt take much notice and took it off.

Top is the 42. Bottom is the 38. Thoughts?

The white 38 looks great!

Small wrist tried both case sizes went with 38mm

I have a really friendly local Apple Store nearby. Tried Both classic and modern buckle in SS 38 mm this morning. Loved the watch, loved it. I had ordered both sizes at .02 and .04 on 4/10 classic band because it was the easiest to size down if I needed to. My wrist circumference is just 5 1/4 inches. Anyway, I cancelled the 42mm after I tried them both on. The case was the size of the top of my wrist took up whole area. I liked the larger screen but tried both and could easily view/ read both. Screen is soooo sharp has to be the retina display. But they really are great looking. So glad I went to see them in person. After I cancelled the 42mm I ordered a spot band in black ... The feel of the sport band is luxurious. Beautiful quality. Tried the modern buckle on. They only had it in black and the bands on all of the try on models was the average or medium sizes so understandable why the modern buckle was too big but I found the buckle hard to shut that is to find the magnet location. Anyway, it's not available currently (odd) so just curious.

It all comes down to what feels best for you when you try it on and it looks like you could go with either, but the 38mm seems better fitting. I would go 42 only if you are looking to optimize maximum screen real estate.

Let us know what you decide.

I got the 38 sport with white sport band. I'm not a fan of huge chunky bracelets, usually only wear skinny bangles so I thought the 38 would complement my style instead of taking over my whole wrist.

I will for sure. Thanks to this thread, I'm beginning to lean more toward the 38

I was debating between the exact same two watch/band combos. My wrist is 160mm. Went to an Apple store and tried on both yesterday. The 38mm Milanese looked much better to me. That's the one I chose.

The different angles makes it really difficult to really know which is which, let alone able to determine which is the best fit. Can you go back and take some more pictures? Get the person who helps you try it on to take pictures with a direct line of sight of the watch face. We need to see if the 42mm is going to overwhelm your wrist or not.

Sorry if you have already seen these pics, they have been around a couple of days but in in the same conundrum. I think if you want to predominantly use a sport band, the 42 looks a little too big, however the sleeker leather and Milanese straps look quite good. I'm still undecided!

I'd go 38. Saw everything in person and the 42 just seems too big. Mind you, there isn't much of a difference between the two but who needs one's arm completly dominated by a watch face? I have a Tag dive watch that is 41 and I can't fit it under the wrist of any of my jackets. Still love it but wouldn't do it again.

You were very kind to take these pictures the other day when you were able to try them on, thank you so much. The picture where you have both watches on actually helped me decide which one to get for myself. Although both the 38 mm and the 42mm look great on your wrist (and I have similar sized wrists), I would be concerned about the 42mm watch getting caught on jackets/coats if I got it for myself. I can also be a bit clumsy and I didn't want to accidentally bang up the edges of a larger watch. I also didn't want an expensive watch to fall off my wrists if the magnets got bumped or jiggled loose when removing a jacket/coat. I felt the classic buckle would keep it securely fixed to my wrist. I preordered the 38mm Stainless Steel Case with Black Classic Buckle. I think you need to go with whichever one you feel will fit your lifestyle best. :)

If the 42 strap is so large that it wraps all the way around to the other edge of the watch (I'm assuming that's what you meant) then I think that one is just too big. You could opt for a different strap, of course, if you definitely want the 42.

P.s. My wrist circumference 145mm
42 leather loop:

I'd probably go with the 38mm if I were you. The 42mm has the "smartwatch" look, the 38mm likely somewhat less so, particularly if matched to the Modern or Classic Buckles.

I have a small wrist and ordered the 38 SS with modern buckle. I tried it on at the store today and the fit is perfect for me and looks great on.

140mm wrists, I pre-ordered the 38mm SS with black sport band. They didn't have one for me to try on at my appointment.

Here's the 38mm SS with a Milanese compared with my stainless steel Ebel. The Milanese looks quite grey on me :( I also tried a Sport with white strap which I'll post separately.

I really wanted a 42mm but my wrist is 127mm and was scared none of the straps would fit me

38mm Sport on 140mm wrist. As mentioned above, I pre-ordered SS 38mm with black sport band. Will probably get a white band too. It was very comfortable but only just fit under my (stretchy) sleeve. The 42mm would overlap the sides of my wrists and look like a mini TV set!
