This thread should be removed. There is no "batterygate". There cannot be a "batterygate" because the phones haven't even been released yet. This thread is click bait. Shut it down.
Fair point, but in light of the reviews being released and the stated knowledge that the batteries in these devices have been reduced, it's fair to say, that some might see this as an issue.

Not I.

I feel like the battery life will be equivalent to the 6. However, based on my usage patterns, it is never near the usage numbers on Apple's site. So, do I care if the battery is smaller? Yeah, I do, but unless they dropped some tech out of the phone, there didn't look like there was any more room for a different battery to put in there.

It's premature. There is no weight to this thread and it was posted without first hand experience. It all seems so silly to me..the phones aren't even out yet and there's already a "-gate" that people are making threads about. Everyone needs to reign it in.

I promise there will be plenty of complaints about the battery, so might as well get it started now. I wish Apple would include a better battery, but I'm just used to always needing to charge my phone. If I'm not gonna have access to a charger I bring an external battery pack. That's just life with an iPhone.

You have 14 days to test it out. If it doesn't live up to your expectations, return it.
Many of us like the iPhone, and we have to make compromises to stay with the iPhone (storage, battery, RAM, etc.). That doesn't mean we can't criticize things that we don't like. If Apple doesn't get feedback about what we don't like then they won't necessarily make things better.

To OP:

If you value battery life, 6S isn't for you.

Worst features of 6S:
-Bad battery life, too small battery.
-Low light camera performance, too much noise and blurry.

Best features:
-3D touch, soon Samesung will copy this.
-A9 chip is a powerhouse.

That's hilarious, because if you're talking about Samsung phones, the Galaxy S6 has a crappy battery life. The Note 5 is slightly better only thanks to its bigger battery.

Hey there,

I've just read a german test of the iPhone 6s and I'm seriously thinking about cancelling my iphone 6s pre-order.

They got horrible test-results concerning the battery Life:

5:40 browsing the web (Galaxy S6 8:30h+)
4h of Talk Time (!) (Galaxy S6 11h+)

Don't get me wrong, I know I'll be unhappy with the overall package when buying a Galaxy S6. But those test results are not acceptable for me. I'd almost call this an audacity.

So what to do? Should I stick with my iPhone 6 and probably wait for the next gen? What are you guys thinking?

Greetings from Germany.

You're basing a possible decision to cancel off one site's remarks?! Don't you want to check as many reviews as you can to at least get a baseline?

I know there was a review where the battery life was definitely in question, wall street journal or bloomberg or whichever I just cannot remember specifically. I think it was done by a female if that narrows down which it was.

Where the heck are the better reviews for the new iphones anyway, the prior ones were pretty meh for detailed information if you ask me.

You don't think there're hundreds of iPhone 6s phones out for review since the launch of it?

From my experience having a S6 edge and iPhone 6 the battery on the S6/edge is a lot better. Somewhere in the region of 60% or so better.
