Yup… I have a first gen Apple Watch 38mm. When I get up at 8 to be in the office at 9:30 it’s dead by the time I arrive at home around 6. After not doing anything than checking notifications like 10 times. This means I need to charge it at home before doing an evening workout or carge it in the office. Since it dies after 10 hours I can’t sensibly use it as an alarm clock, even if i charge it fully right before I go sleep.

This means this app is dead on arrival.

Apple… please give me an Apple Watch with pebble battery life. At least a week.

Your S0 is at its end of life, sorry for the bad news. Time for an upgrade. My S0 was still lasting all day with no battery management features enabled and a 30 minute workout each morning, but I bought it late, it was only 14 months old two months ago when I sold it and upgraded to a S3.

With my S3 I charge it 20-40 minutes each morning depending on my morning and it would still last at least two days if I did not do that. I do not have LTE, just the basic 42mm sport watch.

for those who are only losing about 5% battery over night, do any of you have the 38mm? that's what I have and I lose at least 10%. I put it in airplane, dnd, theater mode. not sure what else to try. not a huge deal, just frustrating to see most other people with better results.

To be honest we don't know. We just assume they are accurate. Unless you have a partner watching your movements while sleeping and comparing it to the app, there is no way of knowing.

I used a miband, apple watch (autosleep), fitbit, garmin to test one night and they all had completely different results. I can't even test any of them because I am sleeping they they do their thing!

Well they work fine for me, Sleep++ and AutoSleep give pretty similar results.

2nd Night.

30 minutes of snoring.

50% Watch battery usage.

Did not remember being “buzzed” in the night.

Doesn’t look like I’ll subscribe.. the battery usage is too high for my liking. Shame really!

Funny how you collect apps you think are cool, then don't use them. Happened in this case. Found I had Sleep Cycle already and apparently paid for it. Nice message in the premium area stating since I bought it, I'm not required to subscribe for premium features. Yeah!

Wore my series 2 44mm all day and through the night. Had 57% battery left when I woke up. Fell asleep on the couch without activating the app. Woke around 1 AM and went to bed, activating the app then. I seem to recall one time the watch vibrated while I may have been snoring. Per the app, 37 minutes of snoring and 22 recordings of snoring. Yikes! But what the heck is this "Activity" monitoring? I took 2,459 steps? Didn't really feel like I slept well last night, so maybe this is why.

Will have to keep using the app and see how things measure out.

1 hour of snoring. No help in kicking me so far. Wife is impressed it recorded snoring at least. Sucked a lot of battery and was gone by the morning on my watch. Crashed during the night?

My Series 0 is a first day of issue Apple Watch, which makes it three years old now. The battery life was not much changed from when it was new until quite recently, normally leaving me with 60-70% at the of the day (enough to wear it to bed, though I would never do that). Now it runs down to about 20% by bedtime even though I typically don't even take it off the charger until mid-morning. Realize the batteries are going to be degraded after three years but the change was rapid and dramatic. Not sure what to make of that.

Still can't get the Apple Watch app to stay loaded on my series 3. Noticed the snore stopper had been turned off in settings too. Will try again tonight.

After the fiasco I've had twice now trying to get Nike Run Club to start on my S2, and then having it crash when I recieved a text, I pulled the trigger on a S3 Nike cellular model.

You were sleep walking and may or may not have fought a raccoon for week old, half eaten bologna sandwich out of a dumpster.

Silver and “old man’s Honda Civic”.

:D

That is awful. Makes me a little worried about my better half's S0 that was a year older than mine. I was planning to upgrade it in June (birthday gift). Still not quite as old as yours, but getting close. I was able to get $140? Something like that out of my S0 on eBay, I was hoping to get something close to that for my better half's S0. If the AW4 comes out by June that might make it more difficult, but I'll keep in mind that it was worn another 14-16 months than mine.

Not as bad as I'd originally feared (see my last post). The big hit came right after I installed the most recent OS update on the watch. After a couple of days of the battery running down much faster than before, I tried rebooting the watch to see if that helped. It did. It's been much better since.

Because if you wear it all day and then snight for sleep tracking and yet the battery can’t last a day? Not hard to see how battery life is an issue.

I’ve literally never had an issue. It charges so fast it’s really a non-problem. If you can’t remove the watch for 20 minutes a day, you probably have bigger issues.

Except it take longer than 20min to charge the watch.....

Meanwhile there ARE alternatives (ie Fitbit Versa etc) that offer 4-5 day battery life. I recently picked one up as I value the health aspects and battery life over the AW. Now if Apple can make a watch that lasts the same amt of time, great, I would consider and get one as I like the apple ecosystem. Until then, the short battery life is an issue for me and is forcing me to vote with my wallet.

While you may not have an "issue", doesn't mean it isn't an inconvenience to others and factors into purchasing decisions.

Okay - there are plenty of threads about battery life of all kinds of things. Let's get back on track.

I tried the app for 3 days wearing the watch. Each morning I woke up really tired. So, I figured I would try using the app without wearing the watch. Woke up feeling like I normally do, somewhat tired, but somewhat rested as well. Seems wearing the watch, I'm not getting a great nights sleep. Anyone else?

Apple should invent devices and don't try to handle all technicals part of our lives. Especially what depends on health. Snoring is really an issue that should be treated. What do you think about it?
Apple only invented Apple Watch. Developers around the world took it upon themselves to invent apps they thought people would use to do or fix something using what Apple created. Two birds, one stone scenario...but it may not work for everyone.

Apple Watch is not the end-all health device for everyone because not everyone has one and in this example, not everyone snores.

Also, Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad we're all invented to do the technical work to enhance parts of our lives today...not control them.
