Newbie question. Does using the Sleep Cycle Watch app replace the iPhone app? Or do they work together? I've being using the iPhone app and didn't know what the watch app was for.
It would be cool just to wear the watch during sleep and put my phone in another room. Then I won't be tempted to check Reddit when I wake up at 2am at night for no reason.
But I wish it had the silent wake up feature, especially where it finds the best time to wake you up within a 30 minute window. The only thing Sleep Cycle should have is the automatic sleep detection. It works really well on AutoSleep, definitely agreed with that.
My review on the app: it worked great the first night/morning. The Haptic Engine on the Apple Watch woke me up. Night 2, 3 and 4... hasn’t worked. My iPhone still goes off. Not sure what happened. If it continued to work, I’d be satisfied with the app.
I thankfully don’t have to pay the yearly fee since I paid for the premium features before that even started, so I’m grandfathered.
I have an Apple Watch Series 3 42mm. I end my day (8 AM to 12 AM) with around 75% remaining, which is impressive. I still plug it in every night before I go to sleep, which I stay awake in bed for at least an hour so it always reaches 100%. The first night it actually worked, I noticed no increased battery drain, maybe 1-2% if it did. I use AutoSleep as well so it doesn’t drain anymore than it did prior to starting my use of SleepCycle.
