Did your BMW have the joystick puck type control on the arm rest? I know a lot of people and reviewers thought that control was impossible to use.
Yes and as a tactile controller it was both easy and intuitive to me, making it possible to simply either press or turn while driving without looking. It sounds like car manufacturers are realizing that touch screens aren't as good, it was nice to hear Hyundai say they're moving away from it.

If they did, it'd cost you €4.99 per month
Yeah, I hate the move to subscription services. Telsa's really bad at it, and now GM's following their lead and going all-in on subscription revenue.

I guess I'm lucky with the BMW's I've had - all features came with the car and I haven't needed to subscribe to anything. If it comes to that for core services, I'll move to another car and vote w/ my wallet.

The maps updates from BMW were pretty expensive, and not very up to date. The house I lived in was on a road that for 10 years never showed up on my BMW nav system.
