pic please of this new fangled stealth power key, please?

stealth is kinda becoming like "HD" was to marketing folks: they use it everywhere....

in this case stealth is markeing for "feature omit"

Thanks. Darin suggested I try it with the skin. If it didnt install correctly I can cut the corners off. Someone else did that and it looked good. Basically like the Zagg skin which doesnt cover the corners.

I have a Ghost Armor back shield and a SGP Ultra Crystal on the front, it doesn't affect the fit noticeably and I didn't need to do any cutting on the corners...

Here ya go!

I don't know if my case is missing a needed 'bump' shape in the wood so that the power key is depressed when squeezed but there is nothing in the space there besides a uniform curve similar to the other four sides of the wood frame... so I would vote for feature omit unless I get a response from portenzo that mine was missed...

Ivandr, thanks for the pics.

I agree that the sanding at the bottom was a bad job. I too would be a bit peeved but probably not worth sending back.

I'm wondering if this was made by the new guy/girl as they also forgot to include the foam for the sound chamber. (?)

As for the secret power button not working - well that would be a reason to send it back. How else are you supposed to power on/off? This just makes me even more leary of this "feature". Yours is probably one of the first to have this and it doesnt work.

Again, I'll wait for the videos but more and more I think I would prefer the cutout for the power button.

Yep, doesnt seem to be anything there that would depress the power button. But the more I think about it - whatever is supposed to depress it would have to be perfectly aligned. I'd worry about that area of the iPad possibly being scratched over time. ????

Well, all this speculation isn't helping any I guess. I wish they would post the videos and explain how this works.

According to the card included it was made by Kris - not sure if that person is new or not (anyone have an idea?) The order slip shows two signatures next to "Quality" and "Approved By" which I assume mean the finished product quality checker and the manager/line supervisor that did a final check (and ensures payment was received because there is a 'OK' stamp next to my CC info)... The signature next to Quality seems to be a K and an R which may mean that Kris made it and then inspected it as well (which should be two separate stages because it allows for another set of eyes to catch things better in my opinion)...

Its a little inconvenient now but I use the Wake/Sleep in the cover and as soon as a jailbreak allows I will be using activator gestures with sbsettings to power down/reboot as needed (I only use the power button on my iPhone 4 for DFU and hard reboots).

Apparently u can rush 'quantity'

That said I think they should invest in a robot Cnc machine and then they can fire two employees.

Anyone drop their case?

So after seeing the damage done by FedEx on a case - I'm now wondering if anyone has dropped their case with the Ipad installed? And if so - what was the result? Damage/No Damage?

I guess I'm now wondering if I need a case for the case?

Better to drop it in a case, Portenzo or otherwise, than without. I would prefer to but a few Portenzo cases before having to replace an $800+ iPad.

You know how ridiculous that sounds

Case for a case

Talk about form over function

Just to let you guys know a customer posted a video of the secret button. It was a video he got from Portenzo but I guess they haven't had a chance to post it so the customer did.

I like the idea of the secret button, but I definitely think Portenzo is run by poor businessmen. You can't change a product that you're selling without letting customers know of that change ahead of time, even if it is "better" in the company's mind.

This shows that the people running the company must be inexperienced or just terrible when it comes to customer communication.

And honestly, how is it they have time to send a video to a single customer but not enough time to post the video on their FB page or on their site? It would save them time in the long run.

Uhhhhh... I was "trying" to be funny.

But honestly would be a shame to damage that beautiful portenzo case. :)

Oh ?! Lololllololol

It's a manufacturing short cut - pretty cheesy if u ask me.

Not to mention the impending lawsuits for not receiving the product people ordered.

Upper right corner issue

I received my case on 5.11 (ordered 3.30)

After 2 weeks of use I have noticed that the upper right corner or the pad
Comes loose from the portenzo quite easy.

Anyone else have this issue.

Is also dosent sit level in the frame.
Can it be confirmed that this is due to the padding for the camera hole.

Anyone? Anyone...bueler?

Edit: I don't have a camera hole in mine.

The video is no longer there. I did get a chance to see it but it actually looked (?) like it was being put to sleep most of the times the person in the video tried to turn it off. I only assume this because the screen would go dark. Only on occasion after performing the "secret power button" sequence would the slider appear on the screen confirming you wanted to power off.

Maybe that's why the video was taken down. ?

Video is still there. Something might be wrong with your browser. Try restarting or if you have some extensions like adblock or flash blocking, turn them off.

Are you for real. If you actually knew what you were talking about, I could understand and possibly agree with you but that is not the case here. From what I saw people have always had the CHOICE of a camera hole. Biggest difference is that it used to be FREE and now it is a $4.95 option or something like that. I would say that the I-Pad sat unlevel because of the wood under the top right corner rather than the grommet. Of course I am only basing that on the fact that recent pics that I have seen with the NEW frame shows the I-Pad sitting level and there is still a grommet in place, but NO WOOD under the I-Pad.

GROW UP!!!!

Sir you are the one who don't know what you're talking about and stop disrespecting other posters by saying things like "grow up", "you're a joke", or "crazy talk". Yes people had the choice for the camera hole but the cut out in the wood frame used to be always there no matter which choice was picked. The only difference was that Portenzo would put in a solid rubber pad to cover up the hole for people who did NOT want the camera hole and people who did want the hole got the rubber ring. (Go back in this thread and look at the pictures and thread posts by previous buyers who complained about this.) Now Portenzo actually changed the design to where there is no hole whatsoever for the no camera hole option so there is no longer a need to block it back up with a rubber pad. The only reason they charge $5 now is probably because the default option is hole free and extra machining for the hole is what warrants the $5.

In my previous post, I was just pointing out my dissatisfaction in that they did not announce this change to their cases. If I had known, I would had opted hole free all together.

so even if you ordered without the camera hole it still includes padding for it?

Not any more as confirmed by the most recent pictures. If you see my above post to Sand Man, I mention that the padding used to be there because Portenzo used to mass produce these frames with a hole cut out in all of them. It seems to me now they have changed this and are now mass producing these WITHOUT the hole so that's probably why they are now charging $5 for a camera hole. Again I wish I would have known because I would have preferred my case without a camera hole. I only got the camera hole for my case because I knew they were drilling a hole in the frame no matter what and I thought a solid rubber padding for no reason was silly.

As I mentioned above I also got a case with the new power button and scott (new cs rep ive been emailing back and firth with) sent me the same video however pressing my case in the same manner has no effect.

Although I still haven't figured out the issue, Portenzo responded to my email within hours and shipped the missing sound piece foam so that I could stick it on and we are working to solve the issue of the power button. I know many have had less than responsive interactions however I think they may be getting a better handle on things because I've gotten very quick responses in my emails back and forth all afternoon.

OMG it seems the rush to get stuff out has really brought the company down. I am very dissapointed in the sanding job pictured above.

I'd send it back.

I think they've had a lot of returns because of poor quality now and that is just making things worse! OMG. Portenzo what is going on?

Since they are in MO I hope all their family and friends are safe...and well wishes to all those impacted by the storms.
