Seriously! I really hope the third camera does something else, because nothing in this article got me excited for it. I don’t need more zoom not so I use AR. They haven’t given me a reason to really use it yet.

If google can do this with one lens, why can’t Apple do it with two? Mind boggling

Except google can't do it all with one lens. The "smart" digital zoom on the Pixel 3 is nice but it isn't better than a real telephoto lens.

If the low-light shots are improved via software, Apple better bring this feature on the Xs as well. They are really behind the competition in terms of low light scenarios.

This phone will be DOA if the price is sky high and there isn’t 5G. I hope Apple manages to sell enough services to hide how badly this thing will sell.

If they lower the price that’s a different story but I can’t see people paying $1,850 all over the world and $1,500 in the USA.

Tim is going to be net with gold claps when he announces this as amazing and gives the numbers it sells for. Even Buffett might down size his McDonald’s meal as he is known to do when his stocks don’t perform.

Apple just isn’t that “must” have cool anymore.

Portrait Lighting
Smart HDR
Depth Control

Apple never backports new camera features to old phones.

Excellent. Keep improving the camera! Better low light images, zoom. All of this.

I think the phones will we will see in the next 5 years will be truly amazing.

I was playing around with my iPhone 4 the other day, and while the images were excellent for them time, they pale in comparison to what I get from my XS Max. I rarely need to break out my professional camera any more.

Which iPhone costs $1500, or how do you get from $1000 to $1500?
And yet Google does all of this with one lens and AI.
For what Apple has done with the AR and the studio lighting effects, I would hope taking pictures in low light is something they're striving for too. They're usually late to the game, at least a generation.
Not even in the dark something as simple as taking pics in your lounge in the evening would help things a lot with this low light improvements.
I know people take photos everywhere but photography literally is painting with light. Using light and manipulating light to get great exposure is what makes great photography great. Being able to take photos in low light is fine - but you don't want your entire library to be shots of friends at the club, which I'm sure is what's happening here.

Look on Apple’s website. The XS Max can go for as much as $1,849 in China and maybe more elsewhere.

Can’t wait for the 20 lens iPhone XX with 20x optical zoom.

Seriously, Apple is running out of ideas.

LOL. You mean what else can ANYONE put on a phone that is totally revolutionary? Maybe put a bottle opener on it? Or have it double as a store so you can make dinner? Or maybe have it fart potpourri.

The "failing to innovate" thing is true for everyone making phones because what else is there to innovate? What other features do you want on your phone that would give Apple better ideas?

At this point, all there is to do is to refine the hardware or improve upon current features. That's where the "innovation" is at, and unfortunately, no matter how innovative that will be, you'll fail to appreciate it.

Who innovates more than Apple?
Are we talking about the past few years or all time?

So refine the hardware and software, don’t add another lens every couple years.

LOL, keep the jokes coming.

Sorry, but I value good sound quality and non-disposable headphones. Also the notch is disgusting.

You like annoying wires? That’s good but sound quality is really no different. It’s good sound regardless

And I’m sorry but once you use the x the notch is simply not noticeable

Maybe they could FIX the camera and software in the Xs Max before they get all high and mighty with three, four and five lens cameras.

The past few years.

I'm going to link you to an interview with Woz if you tell me some other company is innovating more.

The headphone jack is the MagSafe equivalent.
It is great.

I would buy a high-end material phone with no camera on the back at all.
Just a front camera for Facetime in a really nice casing.
Not the cheap aluminum Apple tells us is so great.
