A new picture of an alleged packaging insert for the so-called iPhone 8's SIM-eject tool has been shared on Chinese microblogging service Sina Weibo. The image was then submitted to leak aggregator Slashleaks today.

The insert includes a generic diagram of what is supposedly the iPhone 8. If legitimate, the smartphone's design is consistent with rumors, which suggest it'll be almost entirely screen on the front, beyond narrow, uniform bezels along the edges and a tiny notch for the front camera and sensors.

It's almost August, when mass production of Apple's next iPhones would normally be underway, ahead of their usual September launch. However, recent reports suggest the iPhone 8 may be running several weeks behind. Some analysts believe the device may not begin shipping whatsoever until at least October.

Make sure to read our comprehensive iPhone 8 roundup, which is updated regularly with the latest information and rumors about what could be Apple's most significantly redesigned smartphone ever.

If this is real I wonder how much of the screen is going to be used by the user, there is rumoured to be a function area (much like the Touch Bar on the MacBook Pro) I'm looking forward to seeing Apple demo the iPhone 8 on stage in August. Also if it's an OLED screen I'm guessing they will also up the resolution?

There are tons of fake leaflets and fake packaging produced like this. It's hard to tell but I would lean towards this being fake. Also I really hope all fronts of the iPhone are black, I don't think white makes sense at all, especially when integrating the notch through software.

I personally don't mind the cut out at the top of the display, as long as it's all blacked out, it will blend in really well. It doesn't look as bad as I thought it would and it seems likely this is going to be what we will see in September.

Wasn't it select models on Verizon iPhones on their CDMA network that didn't include a SIM Ejector tool?

I would like to say this is fake but have a feeling it's the 'real deal' here.

The rippling in the paper leads me to believe it’s standard letter paper that’s been printed out.

*edit* just looked at my 7 plus ejector page, and it’s on card stock with rounded edges.

I say this is just a fake print out.

Could be. I bought the unlocked version even though I'm on a gsm network. The unlocked version is he cdma/gsm version.

SO very bothered we still think that a phone launched next to the iPhone 7s will be called iPhone 8. 1) What marketing sense would that make? 2) the naming convention the rest of the line-up clearly predicts:

It's going to be called iPhone Pro!

In 2013, one of these paperwork leaked the 5s' Touch ID sensor. I call legit.
