Im going to go to my Apple store before it opens that Friday. Luckily it is within a mall, which closes, so there will be no campers outside the store itself :p

You do realize the "camp site" at malls is usually a designated area in a parking garage or such, where everyone remains until around 5-6am the morning of. Then security relocates everyone inside the mall to the front of the Apple Store?

Im positive that we don't have one here

Just called my local Verizon store and was told that they for sure will have a decent stock of the Plus, still going to be limited but at least I have peace of mind that it'll be possible to pick one up, of course depending on the line. I'm going to try to be first, going around midnight if security lets me.

Oh Crap!!!!

So things just got serious and scarier. Now all the Verizon stores are telling me that they won't know for sure how many or if any Plus's are going to be in stock until the morning of 9/19. It'll suck if I'm number one the whole night and at 8am they tell me there's none. What a adrenaline rush, let the games begin, Apple.

All bets off. No one knows what they will be getting in. Ever play craps in a casino? :)

Sounds like a combination of production issues and underestimation of demand are going to make the 6+ harder to come by at launch. According to the WSJ are making 2-3 times as many 6's as 6+'s right now. While I think in the long run the 6 will be more popular, at launch (especially because the 6+ sold out preorders so quick) most standby people are going to be gunning for a 6+, especially the hardcore people who line up the day before. What limited stock is available is going to go fast. I think there's still some hope, but I would get in line around 4, if not sooner.

This is one thing that really really irritates me about apples preorders.

i don't understand why it's not 100% FIRST COME FIRST SERVED? if that means that the customers and fans that get up at midnight (or 3 a.m.) get the complete stock, then so be it.

i HATE that they allot a few to the FIRST PEOPLE TO ORDER so that people who go to the store a week later can walk out with a phone. while, again, the FIRST TO ORDER/BUY are then stuck waiting weeks.

FIRST COME FIRST SERVED!

That's exactly what Apple did. The first people to come (aka the people who preordered) are going to be the first served. Everyone who preordered stayed up late to make sure they were the first to preorder.

this is how its been the entire existence of iphone preorders.

Do you think they would miss out on the media publicity of mile long lines outside of apple stores?

Its basic business.

NO, this is NOT how they did it. I was up at 11:50 and attempting to order! their website never did come up in the 2 freaking hours it took me to get my phones ordered via the app.

if they hadn't held back plus phones to have in the store, then i'd be getting my phones friday with the very few lucky ones who got their 128 GB plus orders in.

instead, people who didn't get up last week in the middle of the night, will be walking out with a phone.

i know, but i can still bitch about it!

I would try a Verizon store. When the 4S came out, I opted not to preorder and just stopped by a VZW store the morning they came out-15 minutes later I had a phone and was done.

Definitely a better bet at Verizon than the Apple store.
