If it is true, I applaud moving the headphone jack to the bottom. Much more ergonomical than the top, especially when holding the phone, having it in a coat pocket, or placing it in a car cradle and connecting an aux line, etc. My only issue is, why move the jack to the bottom right (when viewed from the front). That's the mic's current location. Makes no sense to me. Common sense would be to move the speaker to the top (where the jack currently is), the jack to the bottom (where the speaker currently is), and leave the mic alone. Besides, I don't know if this is the case with other people, but when I hold my iPhone (predominately in my right hand) I tend to support the bottom with my pinky finger, and my pinky comes to rest in the exact location of the speaker, often muting it. Bad design of the 3G, if you ask me.

Fake!

why would it still be running 2.0?

Even though I think the camera button and the relocation of phone jack to the bottom are likely, the double holes at the top don't make any sense. From my understanding they are moving the speaker up to the top of the phone (touching the bezel) and making it longer to possibly include a speaker also? This would make room for a front-facing camera, which seems more and more possible now with the "iPhone Video" rumors. Also, the software running isn't 3.0. The SMS icon no longer exists. In 3.0, it's just a blank bubble with "messages" written below it (I've had 3.0 for over 2 months). I can't wait to see what the new iPhone really is going to look like and do! Hurry up Monday!

Yes, it's a fact everytime a "spy pic" appears on MR almost 90% of the user base says that the image is fake. My conclusion is that it's easier to be called wrong than gullible I guess...

Anyway, lately the new iPhone rumors have been constant and you just cannot deny that all the "leaked" images that surfaced appear to have something in common. I think that what we get here in these pictures should not be so far away from the real thing.

why do people keep talking about a front-facing camera?

there have been no real rumors on a front-facing camera that i've seen. just random people here saying they want one.. just like the camera flash

i say there will be no front-facing camera

I think the front facing camera rumors stem from some patent application drawings that showed the possibility of one... which could be seen as a "rumor".

That looks exactly the same as the current phone!

I do like the other mock up thats been posted, I hope thats what we get.

A thought...what is it - 2 years since they launched the iphone? That means that the hardware was kind of decided 3 years ago. they have had at least 3 years to develop "next generation" iphone. i hope and think that there will soon be a significant improvement in case design and also an iphone nano.

that is why i keep my fingers crossed for this one:

I just can't see the reason for the glowing Apple logo on the back?! It would practically scream "Steal me" to every opportunist who saw you using it on the street at night.

If that is a real feature I hope it has the option to turn it off.

In my opinion - F.A.K.E!

I hope the headphone jack is not on the bottom. It feels weird and wrong.

I disagree. When I'm listening to music i like to put my phone in my pocket and keep on working. However with the jack on the top i have to put the phone in my pocket with the bottom down. If i want to slide it out and change a setting i have to pull it all the way out and flip it around. Also when I'm sitting at my desk at work, I would rather the headphone cord come from the bottom. It gives me more leeway and i don't have to worry about the iphone spinning around all the time when i move. Sure its a small gripe that may not effect everyone but for me it makes sense.

Apple Logo?

Is it just me, or does it seem like maybe the logo on the back of the phone may be illuminated?

That would be a pretty sweet phone.

There does seem to blue a green light at the top too showing the signs of a front faced camera...

it could just be because it's a blurry picture of a product shot, but the black area on the screen between the icon's, looks a little "too" black... Almost OLED black.

Dear God, enough already ... go enjoy the weekend, people! Monday will be here sooner than you know it! :apple:

I think they're legit.

And yes, I've read everything. The presence of 2.0's firmware means nothing (indeed, that's the sort of thing a faker wouldn't get wrong). Hardware won't be professionally photographed even turned on, as it wouldn't show up well on camera. The screen will have been photoshopped on later, and I find it entirely plausible that a graphic designer wouldn't really pay attention and grab an old screenshot. Especially given these might well be wip captures on an unfinished website that could get fixed before going live.

We'll see next week who's right.

So, anyway, working on the assumption they are legit...

LOVE the presence of a camera button. Can't really tell if there's a camera flash there in the apple logo or not.

However, I don't like the power button switching side... it's basically now set up for people who are left handed, and I'm... not. Seems very un-erganomic, and quite possibly just done to sell more cases from Apple's stores.

Not keen on the headphone jack on the bottom either - I like keeping my phone in a slipcase, and that would mean I'd have to put it in upside down. And then I couldn't pull it half out, hit the power key and see if I had any texts. Bringing back the indent also seems a bit arsey too.

Still, all in all it looks alright. It'll look nice in white I think.

It'll look black because it'll be a screencap of the OS photoshopped on. Hence it's true black.

I actually prefer the headphone jack on the bottom. Easier to slip into the pocket. And I never type on a desk, it's always thumbs =)

ok, i'm sorry, but how the **** does having the headphone jack on the bottom make slipping it into a pocket easier?? you have to turn it upside down.

Yes! Just saw this on Gizmodo I believe.
Look's kind of legit, I think.

I've got my money on this one being the real one.. it matches the post someone made a few days ago about being sent an image of one.. to the letter. Plus it has the speaker in the right place

The OP's image just doesn't look right... why would they use 2.0, why would they recess the port, I'm pretty sure this iphone will have front facing camera (iphone sold pretty poor in japan because this is a standard feature there)

And when you reach into your pocket you can just slip it right up to your ear, in the correct orientation. I know, its SUCH a horrible idea

I really doubt that apple would post "Available today" as the title. They always have some clever slogan like "Now With 10x More Awesome" or something that pertains to the product. maybe it was a test page though, who knows.

It wouldn't really matter to me if the headphone jack was at the top or bottom, However if there were to be iChat (front facing video), you would want the cord at the bottom so it wouldn't come over the screen or front facing camera blocking the view. Hope we get it!

I agree 100% with you. I do believe that is the next iPhone. Forget the software. Means nothing. The only thing that's weird is that the headphone jack looks recessed again. Why would Apple go back to that?

think about it...

ok, i'm sorry, but how the **** does having the headphone jack on the bottom make slipping it into a pocket easier?? you have to turn it upside down.

Think about it... If you have it in your hand upright, as you do when you use it, then put the phone straight into your pocket, the top of the phone goes in first and it ends up bottom up - hence it is better to have the jack on the bottom.
